I have been spreading the word about Wet Shaving to my family and friends for some time now. I gave out a lot of modern and vintage razors out as gifts for Christmas too. Then the eager questions came, like what are reasonable blades to purchase. Since I've been asked that, I have been trying out many types of blades. I have been especially interested in trying out Dorco Blades. They are really priced good and I was asked what I thought of their Wet Shaving Starter Set, so I thought I'd give it a try. I was really interested in the blades too. For $8.00 per 100 blades you can't go wrong at that price. The Starter Set retails for under $25. Turned out to be a really nice shave.

The razor it comes with is currently a Baili TTO. It's a nice razor that's sold as a Razorock or by Maggard for about eight bucks. Maggard has the rose gold one for a ten spot. It's a great razor.

I see the weishi connection.. I bought the Micro One Touch at my Colorado Rite Aid and it came with 10 ST 300.. same razor.. I've been enjoying it, but went with a Derby blade after 3 Dorco shaves. They weren't bad.. just wanted a bigger name since I am a newbie. Love these videos Ken! I made a Shave Den sign for my corner of our bathroom.. Does not look quite the same! Some people love the Feathers. I used one in my Muhle R41 and it did not go well. Other blades work fine for me in that razor too.

Its a good deal, I just got one of these recently. The one I got comes with platinum blades, and a nicer box, which I'm using to store other Dorco disposable blades . I need more practice with this razor though, first shave I was getting nicks, and finished with the Dorco Pace 4 blade, but I'm more used to the disposables. I need to watch more tutorials.

blackinkonpaper I heard the old Dorco blades are not as good as the Dorco Prime Blades. I haven't tried the platinum ones. 👍

This is a similar starter kit than the one I got when I first started wet shaving a couple months ago. I think the razor might be the same, but the kit came with 30 of the prime platinum blades and not the 301s. That razor is a good mild razor one I quite like using especially with sharp blades like some of the dorco blades.

That razor is a Baili BT-179 that Dorco has branded as its own. I like the Lord Platinum or a Shark in this particular razor.

No matter what people say, but I very much understand you. Because I, too, like you have a thin skin of the European type. And the sharper the blade, I use the more likely that I cut myself, even using invisible light touch. That's why I use mainly qualitative but not too sharp blades. My favorite green Astra, Bic Chrome Astor stainless steel. Yet sometimes I use Rapira stainless steel or Derby. By the way since we both have razor Pearl O.C., I have it works best with Rapira stainless steel, and Astra green hope you too will approach. A Derby performs well in slant bar. I have a vintage one, with pretty - short handle. It is evident that you always try to illuminate a lot of products, and doing interesting and diverse reviews. I sincerely wish that your channel has thrived and been more subscribers. Maybe you should take a video with questions and answers or consult with RU-vid, how to expand the audience, your channel deserves the best.

Thank you so much. I have noticed that it's increasing about 100 subscribers every 5 weeks. I especially like it when I can do a review of a product that somebody has asked for. My goal has been to hit 500 subs, it looks like I may do that soon, thanks to cool people like yourself who are interested in the subject👍👍

Great video Ken! Yeah the only dorcos i like are the new platinum ones, if you haven't tried them and have a p.o box i can send u a couple packs, i have so many blades it's ridiculous, treet platinums, supermax super platinums which are awesome, personna reds and blue.. Let me know I'll drop some in the mail box! Your local! So it's just a stamp or two!

Is that razor heavier than the Micro Touch and the Weishi's? I tried a Micro Touch one and my biggest complaints about it were that it seemed too mild (could have been the blade though) and that it was WAY too light for me. I would love something the same styling but heavier. I have a Parker 22R that is a super heavyweight to me and i just can't use it :(

To be honest, I gave out a few Micro Touch Razor sets to family for Christmas. I only held the razor once, but this one seems a little heavier. I'm not 100% sure but this one felt nice and heavy. It locked the blade up really accurate.

The description on Dorco's website says, and I quote: "Blades fit Micro Touch One™ Razor", so the razor must be the MTO. Perhaps a modified version? The box also says the razor is made in China, which we know is true of the MTO, being a rebranded Weishi.

I started wetshaving with these blades. Still have a hundred pack. Very smooth. Not as sharp as my permas but smoother. I fear no slant with these blades. ;)

Your regular blade is Wilkinson Sword? Please advice how you like it? BTW 2nd shave today with a safety razor... well it wasnt as safe.... had a blood bath. The 7 yr old kid said, "Dad you dont know how to shave"

It's a great and super inexpensive razor. Baili is my second favorite Chinese DE manufacturer. There is a manufacturer called Weshave. Their stuff is inexpensive and awesome. Next time I get a shipment in, I will PIF you one.

So I received We Shave's line today as samples. Very interesting. They have a small razor that is very inexpensive, anodized black (very cool...) and made out of 100% stainless steel and it is only a few dollars They have a perfect copy of a Feather Popular that I can buy in quantity for $0.93.They have an amazing long handled butterfly. I actually need them tested by people who are qualified to do so. I will probably send out a dozen copies of a few models to be tested. Would you be interested?

Hi ken I managed to purchase the old spice tube shave cream of eBay, (technical difficulties sorted👍) I mention in your old spice review. To 70g tubes for $9 nz with free postage, that's cheap as chip really, not sure what it is in US dollars but reasonable I'm sure. Looking forward to trying it and will let you know. I use feather blades everyday in my sr71 razor from the holy black trading company now there slant razor is very very agresive razor if want a very very agresive razor

You can get far more shaves than 5 or 6.....l get 15 shaves per side, that is for the first 15 days of the month l use only one side of my razor, than after the 15th day use the other side for the rest of the month and I still get BBS shaves every day. If you're using both sides for one shave, that is switching sides after every stroke than tossing it after 3, 4, or even 5 days than you're not only going to use up your pack of blades before the month is over but you're wasting money. Sure the blades are cheap but in the long run the cost will add up!

That is a rebranded weishi safety razor. You can pick them up on Amazon for about $5. That razor is VERY mild as far as safety razors go. It is the same razor that the Pawn Stars guy sells on his commercial as the, "Micro Touch One." The razor probably wouldn't be that aggressive with a feather blade either. I have one also and use it as a travel razor because I wouldn't feel bad losing it, but I have the brass model in bronze color which actually is a little more aggressive than the nickel plated model. The updated Dorco Prime is not a Weishi. Similar, but not the same.

The same goes for the razor that I gave you a link to it is not the same as the original weishi razor or Micro Touch One it is definitely different. The one I got in bronze that is actually just brass is way more aggressive I would say mid range aggressive

I was really interested in the blades and was surprised that the razor worked with no problems. I like the fact that the blade locked up and aligned really well. I tried a micro touch that was a little off. Thanks for watching and for the info.👍

Please don't feel I was knocking the razor/blade/video. I was just stating my experience with a similar razor that I THOUGHT was a weishi. The one I have is actually quite good, and I enjoy your videos, and I have been quoted by the great Mantic59. My day is complete lol. I actually started my DE journey thanks to you and Geofatboy Mantic.
