My mom and dad always sang this to each other. Yesterday I played it for my 94 yr old mom and it was magic. She sang along word for word and we both stepped back in time for a moment. Dad died 5 years ago. Their love for each other was truly magic.
@barbiekiros8347 aww ❤️ my mom passed away 15 mos ago 2 days before her 95th birthday. I hope you still have your mom. I miss mine so much. She was my muse. 😢💔 I know she's in heaven dancing with dad to the great music of their Era.
What great taste this young man has. He has many more years to enjoy lovely Doris as her music will live on forever. When I was his age I saw the film called The pajama game five times in one week a mere sixty years ago.
I'm 64 years old, and this is the only song that's makes me cry. Just beautiful, what a voice. I miss you Doris Day. Now this is music, thanks for the memories.
Nicholas, I am 58 years old, and each time I see the Movie or watch the scene of the Movie where Doris sings "Its Magic", I cry too ! I have loved Doris Day since I was a very small child, and My Mom would sing "Que Sera Sera" to Me to help me go to Sleep. I usually had the choice of a Story or a Song. I am quite sure Everybody knows the One that I picked (so long ago in what was a "Perfect World"). Thank You , Doris, and know that Your songs will Always Remain Locked in My Heart ! Movie : " Romance on the High Seas" (1948).
@@sheiladrew1610 I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved husband. My prayers and sympathies. It's such a beautiful song. May your heart find comfort and peace. ❤️🙏
I was growing up in the Philippines after WW2, and Doris Day was everyone's love, mine no less, so much so that every filipina I looked at looked like her.
Welcome the magic into your life and simply believe,. Keep that feeling close to your heart. My mom and I loved Doris Day, and her singing. My mom passed away last week and was 99 years old. Two beautiful, loving women, from the same generation. Rest in Peace
I'm 41 years old and discovered Doris Day by chance two months ago. What a timeless, beautiful woman she was. Her music has touched me like no other singer has. Rest in peace Doris, I love you.
This is her absolute best song out of all of her wonderful hits. I was only 7 years old when this song hit the airways, but it made an impression on me at that young age.
This is a song, that when it played, I told my wonderful husband {this is my song to you.} He sadly passed away 3 years ago and I always cry when I hear it. Thank you Doris for your beautiful voice, singing one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Thank you for that wonderful memory.
I'm sorry for you loss I know how it feels to lose someone really close I've been down that road before and it's no fun. I lost my late wife 5 years ago and Doris was her favorite singer too, one reason I love her song so much.
One of the best love songs ever written, and sung by one of the best singers ever. Don't think anyone could sing this song better. Thanks, Doris, for all the wonderful movies and songs you've given to us!!
What a great record from Doris Day. She had a velvety voice which could charm the birds off a tree! Truly Doris was a marvellous talented singer and actress!
It is truly rare, in my experience, to find someone as beautiful with an unbelievable voice as well. My father was a big fan of Doris, in fact the first song I can remember hearing was it's magic. Here we are, 68 years later, and I love her with all my heart. Love you, Doris, you will forever be the greatest!!
DORIS DAY (April 3, 1922 - May 13, 2019): All-time one of the greatest American's Sweetheart and one of the most beloved Hollywood legendary star ¤ 。. • * °✲★ ● ¤• ° ~ rest in peace ~
An incredibly sad day today!! RIP to the one, the only Doris Day😪 Your joyful face, your precious, loving spirit and your golden voice, will FOREVER be remembered!! RIP 😪
DEVASTATED! A true legend, lady and icon. Beautiful, talented and what a voice!! I was only watching Calamity Jane last weekend. The world is a sadder place today. Thank you Ms Day for giving us such joy through your fabulous movies and incredible voice. We will miss you - I will miss you. I am so lucky to have lived through the age of the magical Doris Day. May your soul astro travel through the heavens, RIP xxx
We all will miss this magnificent lady who entertained people everywhere. She was such a talented lady. GOD BLESSED HER with a beautiful voice & a HEART OF GIVING & LOVING. SO SAD BUT WE STILL HAVE HER MOVIES & ALBUMS. She had a genuine love for GOD'S little creatures. We will miss you.
Sometimes words are not enough to honour a legend of the history of music. However, feelings overflowed by such an extraordinary performance as that of Doris Day, are quite enough not only to honour but also to revive the legends who have been still honouring music and themselves. Legends are always immortal and our feelings can prove this!!!
I play this song every day she was a beautiful lady it's a beautiful song my mum passed away 3 years ago and she loved this song as a family we got it played at her funeral my mum had alzimeers but I played this to her everyday and it made her smile
Man. It hit me pretty hard when I learned of her death. I hope we can find more videos of her performing in the 40's and 50's. She was really wonderful.
She made a lot of movies. She sings in those as well. Turner Classic plays her movies and they are excellent. Love Me Or Leave Me is a favorite of mine with James Cagney. It’s the life story of Ruth a singer. I don’t remember her last name. The song title she sings in this movie. Excellent!!
Doris Day. I fell in love with her voice at the age of six or seven as a child living on Oahu. Doris was really the first woman I ever had a crush on. I've long had the utmost respect for her as a woman, a singer and actress, and, above all, as a truly superb example of humanity. Doris Day made our world a better place. To those of us who paid attention to her over the years, I'm sure she made each of us a better person. Thank you Doris. Mahalo & Aloha. You were and will always be one of a kind! Andy McKane, Maunaloa, Molokai, 7 August 2019.
Her voice is instantly recognized - that uniquee sound - classy - passionate - the best! She probably was one of the most unassuming actress in Hollywood. Made bad choices in husbands - but when you fall in love you don't see with clear eyes. I am 84 and have seen all her movies and have sheet music (I play the piano) for so many of her songs. There will never be another Doris Day!!! Julye Styne and Sammy Cahn are the composers - and she brought it to life with her expressive glorious voice.
The pace and control in this song show what a truly great singer Doris Day was. This is my favourite song of hers. She was a warm and beautiful person inside and out. And what a legacy of wonderful films. R.I.P.
Jule Styne + Sammy Cohn + Doris Day's great vocal + the back up of Percy Faith = MAGIC.....this is absolutely beautifully done. My favorite song by Doris Day.
My lovely Dad always said he wanted this played at his funeral. He died suddenly at age 58, we were all so shocked that we forgot his wish...it haunts me to this day...😔
I would gladly make a reasonable donation to her animal charities to have the opportunity to hug her, and thank her for the 50 years of fantastic music she gave us all. I have loved Doris for 50+ years, and the fact that she is helping to save thousands of needy dogs and cats is an awesome bonus. Love you Doris, and always will.
this is my dad's favourite song. now, he has lung cancer. he is dying. I could not stop myself from crying whenever I hear this. I hope that MAGIC really happens in real life.
John Dare, I saw this post about your Dad and I know in my heart that your real love for him will live forever. I am always amazed how many people have such depth of feeling for a relative or a song or even a pet!!! May your Dad live in your life forever. Thank you for inspiring me to!
This Lady is for me a "Leading Favorite". Her voice is so so perfect "IT'S MAGIC" Listening here now takes me back so well to those "Days of Youth" I hear again those "Violins" she mentions Asking-Myself "Were they TRUE? I do remember losing the "Golden Wand" she sings about My Mum was furious! May you gentle "YOU TUBE" visitor-have THE MAGIC she sings about Thanks to Publisher dayniac
"It's Magic"~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Beautful Doris Day thank you You sigh, a song begins, You speak and I hear violins It's magic The stars desert the skies And rush to nestle in your eyes It's magic Without a golden wand Or mystic charms, Fantastic things begin When I am in your arms When we walk hand in hand The world becomes a wonderland It's magic How else can I explain Those rainbows when there is no rain It's magic... Why do I tell myself These things that happen are all really true When in my heart I know The magic is my love for you
Doris Day has such a beautiful voice like no other singer...this is the kind of voice that you would stop in your tracks just to see where that magnificent voice is coming from...I so love Doris Day, and I believe we share the same birthdate...April 3rd...
Funny how a melody, a lyric, and a singer, can invades our senses for no apparent reason and stay with us, some times for a day or two. So I decided to play this one again, one more time. Ray
