Doris always answered my calls day or night when when my son was murderd back in April 1983 , i called her one time at about three o'clock in the a.m. because I thought I was losing my mind with grief , and she gave me such comfort , and told me she was "so happy" I called her ...she was my absolute angel during the worst time of my life , she never turned her back on anybody that lost a child to homicide , i hope to see her again in heaven someday. ....
@@sirennem.6890 Nobody locked their doors back then; they didn't ever have to until some deranged criminal con man named charles manson came along. He was a destroyer of lives, plain and simple.
My wife had the privilege to meet Doris Tate in her home after she "Along with actress Theresa saldana " who help start "victims of violent crimes " for families that a loved one had been murdered " she was such a inspirational .strong woman .she got to sit & cry and be held by her " she showed one of Sharon's dress to her with makeup still on the collar ..she was so comforting & kept in touch .for awhile. Just to say hang in there" she is missed. What a sweet woman who is now with her beloved Sharon & baby.love you Doris Tate!
Its sick this guy, Tex Watson, could ever father children, 4 of them no less, when he killed another woman's child and the woman herself when she was 8 months pregnant. Total injustice.
I admire Doris Tate so much. I mean I can't imagine the pain and sorrow she felt throughut her life, after losing her daughter and grandchild in such a horrible way. Yet she still managed to face her daughter's killers and demand justice. It's beacause of Doris that those monsters are still in prison. She is a strong and amazing woman, and I hope she is in heaven with Sharon, Patti, and little Paul.
@Louise Mcilwaine yes RIP. Her son who was murdered as Sharon pleaded for his life. He had a very loving and protective mother who unfortunately was over powered
I cannot believe it has been almost 20 yrs since she died. She was such a brave lady. She fought the fight alone. The LaBiancas and other victim's family's did not start to appear at parole hearings until she died.
Sharon Tate was an angel on earth and I am comforted to know she had such a wonderful mother who is now reunited with Sharon and her baby! Doris was a beautiful soul and she’s a hero to many!
Watson should be fed into a wood chipper feet first. He literally ran from victim to victim at both residences, stopping at each, where he’d stab, stab, stab, then run to the other and stab, stab, stab. Sick of his saying, “Well, Charlie sent me and the others, it was Charlie who,” blah-blah, blah - they could’ve all driven away that night and never returned, but no. I wish they’d put him in general population and let the inmates circle him with shivs, repeating Tex’s own words, “We are the devil, and we are here to do the devil’s business.”
God bless Doris Tate. I can't imagine the pain and sadness she felt throughout her life after losing her daughter and granchild in such a terrible way. Yet she still managed to face her daughter's killers and seek justice. It's because of her that thoses monsters are still in prison. Doris Tate was a strong and amazing woman; I hope she is in heaven with her daughters, and her grandson.
ProudKansan08 Paul Tate was married to Doris until she died in 1992. He died in 2005. He didn't attend the parole hearings. When Doris died, their youngest daughter Patti took over, until she got sick. Then in 1997, Debra Tate, their second daughter, took over representing the Tate family at the parole hearings. Paul Tate was not in good health in his later years, and wanted to stay out of the spotlight.
the death penalty shouldn't even be questioned here, especially in the case of murdering a pregnant woman & little unborn baby! THAT is in God's word!!
Absolutely. Plus what they did to all the other victims including the Labianca's was beyond anything anyone could imagine. The entire murder spree was purely barbaric.
I love Sharon Tate and think Doris Tate is great for doing what she did do and for her ver smart ressons for wanting them too be in jail! She just didnt say "stay in jail!" she gave an amazing resson a way of looking at it! Also did you know Oprah co hosted this show at one time lol in the 80s.
Doris was so traumatized by Sharon's death. She is to be celebrated for being courageous and victorious in Jesus for advocating victim's rights and making sure that Sharon was loved and honored as was her Son in all of her initiatives and efforts. I have been to Holy Cross to pray for Sharon, Doris, Patti and Paul Richard and I will be back to do the same and more to come on promises I have made in love and honor to them in Heaven. Glory to Jesus Christ. Amen.
Wow, I never even considered the cost to keep them alive in prison. When I think about that, capital punishment is no question. I will never understand why the death penalty was repealed. If someone could explain it to me, I'd love to know.
All you need to know about the death penalty is that it is state-sanctioned murder pure and simple. It is just as bad as Tex that night. If just ONE innocent person is put to death, the whole idea and apparatus crumbles to pieces. I hope it is repealed for the innocent people on death row. And there are plenty! The courts often get it wrong, the police can be utterly corrupt, and there is no way to bring them back to life. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the cost of housing prisoners for years.
You really have to admire Doris and her daughter Debra for their strength and perseverance in working year after year to ensure that the murderers of their daughter and sister remain in prison. I can't imagine how hard it must be for them to have to continue to deal with this. But to allow any of the Manson Family killers to ever be free and not have to pay the full penalty for their atrocious crimes is just unthinkable. There really is no punishment sufficient to atone for what they did, not even the death penalty, which all of them managed to avoid by pure luck. These people must never be free, regardless of any changes they may have undergone since. Not only did they take the lives of innocent people in an unspeakably barbaric fashion, but they also forever changed the lives of everyone who loved them. Life in prison is a relatively light sentence for them, and one that they must serve out completely. Anything less would be an abomination and a grave miscarriage of justice.
I just started watching this. But I already love the recording. Because of the color. Because of the rainbow in the recording. I love the rainbow recording.🌈
F charles Tex Watson who is a psychopath killer. media made such a noise on mad Manson that you forgot Tex the real killer I believe nobody can send you to kill a felow unless you have the shit in you
@beapollen she was a very strong woman too to go thru all she did. I cannot emagine loosing a child and grandchild especially in this way and to come out strong and help lvictims and others who made mistakes as the people who murdered her beautiful ,sweet talented daughter.
I have agree, what a slap in the face to the victims to witness this barbaric murderer even enabled the opportunity to have the right to bear any children of his own, esp while incarcerated.
@@johnysmartway3528 who the fuck told you that God has forgiven Tex Watson? Did you have an epiphany ? I hope you hold this same attitude when someone murders one of your family memet the same way Sharon Tate was murdered.
It’s so devastating to hear this mother talking about her child and grandchild’s fate !!! I think everyone is in agreement if only we could invent time travel to go back and stop this !!! I do really think this awful evil caused Mrs Tate to succumb to the other evil that overcame her , what a force of nature she was !! God help them all
I always feel that Doris was searching for the truth, the whole story. She never really got it. We still haven't got it. 52 years and counting. Keeping the murderers in prison is all very well. But what was behind them? A low life crim which the US authorities kept releasing for two years for reasons unknown until forced to arrest him? And the rest of the story please.
I highly recommend "Restless Souls" a collaboration of Alisa Statman and Brief Tate of unpublished manuscripts by the Tate family. I listened to it on Audible and to hear what this family went through and what it took for them to keep it together and make good come out of tragedy is a testament to deep love for a lost child and personal strength and courage.
I love that book. Have read it 3 tines! Loved Doris and Patti. Not a fan of Debra... something about her rubs me wrong way. It's all about her... every time she tells the story of the murders she has a bigger role. She's been caught lying multiple times and even defended Polanski by saying his rape victim wasn't a "real rape victim".
There is a special place in Glory for Doris and Patty Tate for being our champion, those of us who've lost loved ones to murder. my step mom who raised me, was raped and killed in her bed and it was Doris's example that gave me the strength to keep her killer in prison, where he died a broken old nan of 71 in a prison hospital.
Sort of like we all know about so called "liberals" & "progressives" now. They are the least "liberal" people out there with nothing remotely of "progress" coming from them . . . They labeled themselves that meaningless garbage anyway. They are more accurately labeled as *fascists and REGRESSIVES!*
These hosts are HORRIBLE. I can't believe this is major market t.v., even back in the day. Poor Doris had to be on these stupid shows just to get the word out. She was worthy of only having to appear on NATIONAL television outlets, not these rinkey dink shows.
Does anyone know if she and her husband divorced? One never hears about him, only he writes letters to the parole board, and you don't hear about him being involved in the victim's rights, and Doris's group. I was just wondering if anyone knew?He doesn't show up at the parole hearings after Doris died, his daughter did.Seems strange.
It seems as if a lot of prisoners---particularly if they're going to get a death sentence---become so-called "Born Again Christians." Susan Atkins, Karla Faye Tucker and Sean Sellers, to name a few. Sellers was only sixteen when put on death row. I am against the death penalty, so it really angered me that minors are sent there. What he did was reprehensible, but he was little more than a kid and that is just wrong.
Sasha Musgrave You have to wonder the genuineness of someone who follows a cult and religions so easily. It doesn’t surprise me that people who follow men or cults end up becoming born again Christians. They seek validation.
