A long project i chipped away at for an entire month. FINALLY to be released to the public. I'm totally gonna make a behind the scenes vid. This is an AU where Jade n Dave travel around the world as a band. June is their video editor so thats why this shit goes so hard hehe :B. They made bank from their last EP post-college so they have enough dough to travel from Greece, Rome, New York, Brasil, etc etc etc. Might expand on this lowkey. Preferably with less copyrighted music lol.

I can imagine Dave fiddling around with harmonics on a guitar, sampling it, and putting a drum beat under it before just improvising lyrics from the stuff around them, some snacks they may have been sharing in particular. Then Jade gives it a bassline and a hook and the rest is history.

I found this a couple days after it came out and recognized the artstyle from bits of fanart id seen over the years as Homestuck stuff, and I thought to myself "Well golly gee, this 'Homestuck' thing must be pretty great if it's still inspiring such great fanworks a decade later! maybe I should give it a read?" HAPPY 1025 CASCADE DAY EVERYONE! I've seen the WIP of this animation on twitter and i seriously did not exoect it to be SO LONG 0_0 its really amazing how high quality it is i absolutely love the visual style of it, the flash animation is fixed eith the real life backgrounds PERFECTLY they really blend together super well. Reallythis whole anim has this weirdly personal vibe idk why, but every time it goes to the "tv is so loud it hurts my brain" part i just get chills, idk why i get emotional over it but i DO the part you animated as dave singing is freaking perfect for him, especially him mentioning Danny Devito, like he didnt do it in the comic but it feels like he could lol RHAT FIGHT SCENE AT THE END!! originally when i saw that frame of meenah i was like really excited cuz it was a really specific character choice and i live for that, but the the whole medusa=condesce thing was just so cooL... AND THE PART WHERE SHE FIRES THE LASER!! AND JADE DODGING!!i really didnt expect a cool fight scene like that... (i find the implication of that store being in italy funny concidering many people HC the Amporas as italian lol) overall amazing animation and a great thing to see on 1025.

I'm obsessed with this. I love the song, but your animation is just so much fun. Something about the guitar solo moments as she gets so into is just so fun to watch, and the overlays all look amazing. Also small moments like the fantastic lighting at 1:20 is such a great attention to detail and it really pays off. The mixed media is also fantastic.

the fandom is quite alive right now actually!! its more alive now than it has been for years... it started eith that homestuck event at requiem cafe and now we have James Roach lead a new team of people continue Homestuck Beyond Canon, so its pretty exciting stuff!! oh yeah alsotheres a fairly good chance hiveswap act 3 will come out somewhat soon (like 6 months maybe)

it comes from the weird 2012-20~17? homestuck fandom era where straight ships were kinda hated on, the weird yaoi culture the internet had at the time. people have mostly moved on from that now. i liked davejade and such at the time but i remember being kinda discouraged by my friends because it wasn't davekat lol
