@CIA - Central Intelligence Agency There is a comic where he does that Rob covers on this channel. Dormamu tries to use magic to control Galactus and Galactus consumes him, and pretty much wipes out the universe.

@CIA - Central Intelligence Agency he was amped from consuming magical energy, which he learned he was able to do. No real reason he couldnt just start absorbing Dormamu's when he is attacked. Dormamu's powers just feed Galactus anyway, its like trying to extinguish a fire with gasoline.

Strange didn't actually fight Cyttorak from what I remember, he just reasoned with him. That's one interesting aspect to this "evil" outer god like being, is that he has shown himself to be able to be reasoned with on several occasions.

Hmmm probably gonna give it to Cyttorak he's stated to be more powerful than Galactus and though Dormammu lost to Galactus it was an amped version so we don't know how he would fair against a regular Galactus but this would be an interesting battle

Dormammu was relatively recently defeated easily by Galactus after Galactus realized he could eat magic. Galactus had previously devoured and gained the full power of many immensely powerful Demon Lords and other Magical Gods.

Doctor Proteus I always felt like that was an outlier of a story, based on what Dormammu has been shown capable of. Like galactus can defeat Dormammu but Eternity has a high diff fight? That story is hella cool but never really sat right with me

Honestly it's hard to gauge that fight because there's no telling how much power Galactus gained from consuming magical worlds. The power cosmic could have easily been ramped into overdrive, multiplied, or compounded by any number of magical energies

You forgot what happended with Juggernaut and Oblivion..Oblivion himself was impressed by Cyttoraks magic..so to let Juggernaut leave he asked for a piece of it..plus Cyttorak was shown both god and demon over the years..he is more of a mystical abstract..even the Vishanti fear him.

Dormmau might win a "most times seen and defeated" contest, but how would he defeat someone who HE calls upon? Would he use Cyttorak's bands against him? That is like a sorcery trap, "whosoever calls upon the power of Cyttorak, shall forever become bound and become the thrall of the Crimson lord". PEACE family.

@Lord Jay we should not suppose when giving an answer, Dor, has been weak enough to have to call for "help" during battle, we have not seen Cyt do so. alright, a boxer is in the ring, in a poor position, and calls to his ringside trainers for help, then the trainer gets on the phone and calls a buddy for help, then who is greater? you decide. or he's just borrowing a more convenient source of power, seems Cyttorak doesn't care who uses his power so long as they can do the spell, maybe Dormammyu's just flexing on Strange showing him his spells are nothing special, or maybe he just felt like playing around a bit, or a million other things, saying that just because Dormammu uses Cyttorak's power he is weaker than Cyttorak is a serious leap of logic.

@@ahkilleuskosmos6836 Cyt states that he gains from the destruction caused by using his power, why would Dorm, if he were showing Dr Strange how insignificant his powers were, use the SAME power source? wouldn't it seem more "stunt worthy" for the master of the dark dimension to counter the crimson bands by show of his OWN power? for whatever reason marvel stories have promoted Dorm more than Cyt, however only one of the two is a foundational power source for the many neutral magic users in the marvel universe. in fact Loki with the norn stones, may be more powerful, or equal to dormmamu in the earth realm. judge them by their, and their servants exploits......Cyttorak wins. Cytorrak is likely more powerful and more pragmatic. He is a builder and destroyer. When he wanted to be worshiped, he did not conquer, he created a race to worship him. He has done plenty of destruction directly and through his agents. But, some magic users actually have summoned his agents to build.

And don’t forget, in this same Dr Strange series, earlier Satannish and Cyttorak battled, it wasn’t shown, but they fought. And Dormammu created Satannish, so if his creation could battle Cyttorak, Dormammu should be able to beat him.

@master10ize I don't think he can. I believe if one has the knowledge of the spell and the mystical power they can invoke abilities or power from supernatural beings. However, the Invoked might be able to add stipulations, conditions and, if the Invoker loses mental control, gain control over the Invoker to exact a hefty toll. That's how it's seemed to me.

Michael Pryor that was my first thought also. But I was thinking, what if cyttorak gave juggernaut more of his power while he was fighting thanos. Truth be told, we usually see juggernaut at his weakest potential in most cases. If cytorrak gave him more power, out smarting juggs before he gets beat would be thanos only hope.

When a character “invokes” another characters name, that DOESN’T mean that said character is more powerful, it just means that THAT character has a “specialty” that they are know for. Cyttorak is known for his Crimson bands, supposedly no one makes better “bands” than he does, so they call on him to use his bands. Just like they call on the “Winds of Wattoomb”, to use his powerful winds, if you need to blow something over. Or the “rings of Raggadorr” to circle of surround something. A huge part that you missed is if Cyttorak is nearly omnipotent, then the other 7 members of the Octessence are omnipotent as well, why else would they have a contest to see who is more powerful? They all must be nearly equal.

Because - as Stan Lee put it - Galactus is potentially stronger than everything except "The One Above All". Galactus' purpose - to eventually absorb everything and cause its destruction and rebirth. Galactus has the ability to absorb anything that exists but wishes not to do so as to not upset the universal balance for as long as possible. Galactus purposefully starves himself to near death to prolong the existence of everything.

I have a suggestion. I've asked all of my friends who read DC and NO ONE has an answer. What are lantern rings made of? I've seen them shattered and multiplied. I read mostly Marvel and my best conclusion is the emotion they come from. But why are they all rings and not a different ornament for each part of the spectrum?

I would lean that Cyt is more powerful BECAUSE he doesnt have the feats. I dont remember outright but I thought it was other gods who sealed him away not just sorcerers and people. The fact he isnt used is probably more telling to his power because actually having him enter a dimension is certain doom. As far as I remember Dormamu is also not as powerful outside his own dimension and routinely just banished by being tricked by strange. I would say cyt would mush him pretty easily even not in his own dimension. you should do some crossover vs vids like Dormamu Vs Myxilplik

The decision to stop digital comics from releasing is that it'll severely screw comic stores more than they already are. If they release the next six issues of "Whatever Comics" on digital and I read them, what incentive to I have to buy them in person or even go back to the store if I'm now used to the digital format? Adversely, what if I want all six issues in print for collection purposes? Does the comic store have to shell out funds to stock old issues as though they were new just in case? Better to keep everything on the same page and give everyone a breather for a bit.

@@LegendaryDarkKnight602 the thing is I havent seen feats of cosmic hulk(galactus herald hulk) since at the end of the comic he only becomes galactus herald. But i believe the strongest hulk (stronger than WBH and Cosmic hulk) is Immortal cosmic hulk and he would definitely throw any juggenaut round like a ragdoll. Unfortunately tho this hulk is evil as he is basically possesed by the one below all

Dormammu has more feats and one side is seen being comparable to Odin to then manipulating Eternity etc, however then we also have Cyttorak who is a an Elder God who is a tier above the highest Skyfayher like Odin; so it depends on what’s more important, concrete feats vs Marvel Universe implied and power portrayal.

isnt there the Throne of the True Satan which exists, in which the closer they sit to it is how high they think of themselves. Cyttorak was all up near that thing while Dormammu sat further back. So in Confidence in their Power id throw my hat to Cyttorak, he does lack the Feats overall though compared to Dormammu. Its Was from Journey into Mystery #627

+Comics Explained With the current virus limiting access to new comics how about you cover non-DC/Marvel content like Dark Horse, IDW, or Archie? You could cover more Transformers comic content, Archie Sonic the Hedgehog is something you could cover as well as Dark Horse Star Wars content. There are even comics for John Wick, Indiana Jones, and Assassin's Creed that you could cover.

Damn Rob, DC and Marvel are dumb for not releasing web comics, huh? There still is a large sub section of comic readers that still read print copies, lol. Maybe they're (DC and MARVEL) looking at a loss of revenue if they take that route? I personally prefer print over web comics. No new comics? Just recap back issues. This what I am doing for my local mom and pop store... so they can survive this pandemic. I actually implore everyone to support your local comic store & buy back issues. There are SO many stories out there. This can be a time to catch up or start a new journey. Like Saga (hint-hint ROB!) or any lesser known books. I am currently getting all of the Buffy the vampire slayer & anything Johnathan Hickman books now.

The Phantom Stranger, Mr. Miracle, pleeeaaase Solomon Grundy and his strength, I'm in a debate battle with my friends because in the cartoons he beat a Lovecraftian space gods brain into pulp with Hawkgirl and Auqamans assistance. In DCeased he is invulnerable to the corrupted anti-life equation. In Justice from Alex Ross Hal Jordan was boom tubed to a section of space his ring had no co-ordinance for and The Phantom Stranger shows up and saves him, maybe a video on PS?
