I visited this museum in 1997 with my then 3 year old daughter. The night before I told her we would be seeing Dorothy tomorrow. She wrote a note to Dorothy on the hotel stationary. In the middle of the tour of Dorothys house she walked up and gave it to her! Parts of the Oz tour were a bit frightening for my daughter but we finished it. This is a wonderful recognition of a wonderful movie. Dorothy did great ! My Dorothy guide didn’t sing. I would highly recommend this tour and museum, it was such fun. Thank you for recording your time there, it brought back great memories 😊

That's my great uncle's house! I don't know much about the house's history, it's mostly just been information in passing. What I do know, it was one of my grandfather's brothers who had a pig farm somewhere around Liberal. My mom and her siblings would come and visit when they were kids until the family moved to Liberal in my mom's late teens. We would visit this attraction a lot when I was young, the last time when I was about 9 or 10. I remember listening as my mom and aunt had a conversation with the tour guide about some of their memories of the house. I can sit down with my mom and we could contact my grandad if you'd like more information on the house itself. I think it's pretty interesting, but I could be biased since it's a family thing. lol

one of the greatest movies ever made , originally it flopped ( it was going up against Gone with the wind ) but was released again later and the rest is history :)

The woman playing Dorothy was awesome! She has a very nice singing voice. The tour was very fun, 🥰

Cat goes into a saloon and orders a shot of whiskey. Cowboy says we don't serve kitty cats here. Cowboy shot the cats hand and the ran off. Cat got better dressed up in cowboy outfit and cowboy hat and walked back into the saloon. Bartender said to the cat, what do you doing back in here? The cat said " I'm looking for the guy that shot my paw"

I've passed through there with my semi a few times this year. Nice little town and I've been meaning to check that out, along with the air museum and that Rock Island railroad exhibit along the Union Pacific mainline. Probably one of these days when I'm not pressed for time, or in my own personal vehicle on an off-day. Only about 6-7 hours away from where I am in NM.

How does she remember it all? How does she even have enough breath? Wonderful. Used to visit this museum when I was little and the Munchkins would come to the museum every couple of years. I have a yellow brick there somewhere that my late grandmother Ruth got me. I will be in Liberal in a month or so to inter some of my late mothers' ashes. Thought visiting my brick might be worth the trip, but I also thought it might make me sad. Then I watched this video. The coolest thing is the model of the house from the movie, but this place has expanded to about five times its original size and the memorabilia alone would be worth the visit. Thanks for setting me straight Carpetbagger! I might also have to visit the World's Largest Hand Dug Well in Greensburg. My late grandfather used to tease us about stopping to look and all the grandchildren would scream "no!" (He would also lower the windows as we went past the hog lots. Very funny man.) But I kinda want to see it now. 🤔
