One time a man stopped me for money. I apologized for not carrying cash but he said he was really hungry so i asked what I could get him. We were surrounded by restaurants and take out places and told him I'd buy him something. He didn't look happy and kept saying he wanted money cuz he was hungry. And I kept saying I'll buy him whatever he wants. But he insisted on money and asked to walk with me to the ATM. I said I can't do that but if you are hungry I'll buy you food. He didn't respond and looked away. Just be careful not all of them are really hungry, or at least not for food. Maybe for drinks or drugs. Of course if I'd have given him some money if I had some but no way I'm walking to an ATM with a stranger. I'm afraid of going to the ATM by myself! Just be careful.
I used to struggle with this similar scenario, after some really disheartening experiences. One time when I was sharing this struggle with my Dad, he said that when we give, we can't control what someone does with the gift. If they misuse the gift, given in love, that's on them. But it's not up to US to judge who is or is not worthy of receiving the gift. We give in Love, who knows how that may change them in a way we never ever see. I hope this insight helps someone else struggling with the same thing.
That’s so strange…I remember getting mad and yelling at my friend not too long ago and I could have SWORN I saw those same two ladies outside across the street shaking their heads in disapproval…now I see that they’re just everywhere apparently. Lol hilarious and also insightful videos, I’m glad I found this channel! God bless y’all!
I wish y’all could have shown the “Bury the Dead” part, I bet when it’s Abner’s turn people will try to push him to the hole because of whatever his snark comment would be. 😂😂😂
Does the Church regard with esteem Abrasive Abner? He adores the one God, living and subsisting in Himself; merciful and all- powerful, the Creator of heaven and earth, who has spoken to men; he takes pains to submit wholeheartedly to even His inscrutable decrees.
bradyspace It's difficult to say. Abrasive Abner may be motivated by pride, in which case the church would not regard him with esteem. However, if he's simply doing his best to live his faith but has an awkward personality and lacks social skills, then yes, the church would regard his efforts with esteem because he is giving his all for the Lord, even of his results are dismal. Hopefully, however, Abner would try to improve and learn to be a better Christian, and his evangelization skills would improve. If he is simply awkward, he would have the humility to do this, and if he loves Jesus as much as he says he does he'd keep trying to improve.
I saw an article from my wife team that said 50 creative ways to show mercy by and I'm here to say nothing they said had anything to do with mercy feeding the homeless is very important yes but that's Sympathy not mercy mercy is done on a more personal level I have to disagree with the article because mercy is generally meaning to help someone out who has wronged you instead of trying to get revenge but to help the person to deuce kind things to people despite that you could easily treat them the way that they traded U that is mercy I don't know why I'm bringing this up I just want to clarify I didn't agree with that author because that's called the sympathy which ties into The Bible is well but mercy is literally as somebody has done you wrong and then instead of hating on that person you forgive them and even help them out when they need it that is mercy those are 2 different things both are very important is says do help and shall sympathy for those who are less fortunate and it also says to show mercy but they're still 2 different things just putting that out there
