Peristaltic pumps were such a serious game changer for me. The number of liquid exchanges that can be automated is vast, and is such a labor saver. Not only on marine tanks either, it was a fantastic item for my planted tank as well. It's such a useful tool.

Does this mean that you use the timer outlet to determine how much it doses? That seems difficult to calibrate unless you’re using whole numbers in terms of the dose. I.e. 5 minutes would dose 5.5 ml. Unless I’m misunderstanding?

Man I love the BRS Dosers. I have several and they’re rock solid. I program them using Apex and the OSC function (via reeftonics calculator) - but it’s a pain to make adjustments. It really sucks that Apex Fusion doesn’t have a dosing wizard that supports other dosers besides their own DOS pumps..unlike CoralVue’s Hydros from what I’ve recently learned. Here’s hoping BRS can influence Neptune to unlock Fusion’s dosing wizard to work for other dosers besides their own. (Which let’s face it..is just a slimy sales tactic to sell more Neptune DOS pumps.. But this is making me consider ditching Neptune for Hydros.) Am I alone here?

Why is the brs doser better than the kamoer x1 Bluetooth? Kamoer x1 Bluetooth is smaller, more precise, cheaper, app programmable and doesn’t need added timer. Brs sells it so I’m not trying to be out of line.

It’s not, the Kamoer is the best for the price. BRS pump probably gives them a better margin so they push it

@@RyanFelt maybe my question should be why are they recommending the brs doser over the kamoer x1 Bluetooth? I just don’t see why it is the recommended option given my examples above.

No doubt that the X1 is a great option. The only downside with the X1 is that if there is a power outage, you need to reconnect to the pump in order to re-start the dosing schedule. For that reason, we felt that the 1.1 ml pump and a digital timer might be a better choice for a beginner to start with.

I would recommend the 50 ml per minute for Kalkwasser. 1.1 ml is way too slow for the volume needed.

Please use your influence to get Ecotech to start making the Versa 4 packs. They have pretty much never been in stock anywhere and I have been on just about everyone's waiting list for 2 years. Everytime I ask Ecotech about it, they have some excuse, but the latest being a microchip shortage. Well they don't seem to have any problem getting microchips for lights and pumps, so what's the deal. Plus the price has gone up 200 dollars in the meantime. Sorry to vent, I love Ecotech products, but this has just made me frustrated and is going to force me to have look elsewhere. Please help.

50ml/day vs 1ml/min ? Remember there are 1440 minutes in a day which would be 1440ml/day. Something amiss here peeps. 😅

Any suggestions for dosing water between tanks around 100 gallons per day so it stays one system between several tanks ?
@BRStv
@BRStv 2 года назад
Dosing pumps aren't designed to move that much water around, so you're most likely going to be best off plumbing both systems into a common sump. This way, gravity and return pumps will do the work for you and reduce the chance for a flood.
