Nice work guys, just finished the idiot myself. The ending left me in a state of stillness in mind and body. Something I found interesting (from conversation with ChapGPT regarding the book) was that unlike Christ, Myshkin had no true disciples. Other characters were always able to recognize the beauty in Myshkins soul but would never quite choose to walk that path themselves. Why exactly might that be?
I also like The Idiot - especially the 'centipede-thing' dream. Yes, Warren, I think you are right - the Idiot is not simply about doing good - it's much more than that. Check out Michael Holquith's (I think) essay about how The idiot shows, in contradistinction to Crime and Punishment, a failed resurrection (cf Crime and Punishment's epilogue). I would strongly also recommend Robert Louis Jackson's epic Dostoevsky book (can't remember the name) but the Holquith or Holsquith essay is in another book (a collection, edited, I think by Rene Wellek).
