@@tiMouu2001i cant even tell what you mean. But I don't think you have to know him in real life to know he's a great guy. The good valve has done in the industry is alone enough, he is the one that makes sure horrible things dont happen and when the community is mad, they correct course. Microtransactions are their only sin, but in their games they aren't even close to required. Some stuff valve has done for the industry: made gaming on Linux work. They almost single handedly funded and developed Proton, working with big names in gaming to make anti cheats compatible as well. Steam deck, you actually own that hardware, you can do whatever you want with it and they have a video showing you how to replace parts yourself. That is a big deal while other tech companies are going so far as to make each individual part be assigned an ID and if you replace it, the OS wont even let you use it, essentially forcing you to go through them for fixes. Steam sales, essentially giving games away in some cases. After a few years their own games, despite being absolute masterpieces they could continue selling for $50-$60, they lower prices and then have sales on top of that. Mods, CS was based on a mod. L4d was based on a mod. They give you their sdk for free to make your own mods and have a place in Steam where you can upload them and download them, through Steam. They totally embrace it while companies like Rockstar try to prevent it.

It seems to be a funny response but I think he is serious. He openly admitted that Valve suffers from intellectual burn-out and is not capable of making Half-Life 3 or Portal 3, and they also don't see any reason to attempt Team Fortress 3, DOTA3, Left4Dead3. Remember the legendary "EA in a nutshell" video???? In that video Valve were the good guys. Now...Steam and online multiplayer gaming has transformed them into the same type of company as EA...it is all about keeping old projects running with little to no effort, milking the cow, just without EA's mafia-esque Studio-swallowing imperialism and the tendencies to make franchise-ruining last installments. But, that good old creative high quality Valve is not Valve anymore. If the game nerd founder who is at the top asks for motivation to finish one of the greatest game series ever, well, you know shit is real and it will never happen. He turned to the dark side and is happy with his fuck you money. The game maker inside him is dead and there is no Luke Skywalker coming to save Gabe.

IT will be like what happened to Dota. There wasnt a Dota 1 so why there should be a HL3. They should go directly to #4. Or exactly like Portal. There was already a Portal game and when it was remade they decided to name it Portal instead of Portal 2. So maybe just maybe HL3 should be renamed as Half life all over again. Like those new spider/man movies, every 2 or 3 movies the story starts all over again and again ...

@@CunningCondor obviously those things need to be considered, but a company doesn't need to pander to your every need. My whole point was that even though they aren't doing a lot we can just appreciate what they do. There's zero reasoning as to why you should shit down their throats just because you haven't got an update to the game.

Meh even as a Dota player, it's the fact that they are joking so much self awareness in the front PR side of them (Valve still doesn't know #3 joke...haha?) ... While their backside is shitting on their IP game fans, and even their platform of Steam with Steam Direct and literally withdrawing responsibility for their own platform.
