Dota 2 Hero Spotlight - Visage the Necro'lic 

Changes to Visage have been made since this video was released. This list will contain those changes (not including number changes, since they are very frequent) Grave Chill: Now also gives the bonuses to any familiars close to Visage. Gravekeeper's Cloak: No longer gives independent armor or magic resistance, but instead decreases all damage taken by 8/12/16/20%. Gravekeeper's Cloak also works on Visage's familiars if they are within a 900 radius of him. Summon Familiars: Magic resistance reduced greatly to 35%. The familiars also always deal the same amount of damage, rather than more damage when they have charges. Visage now also has a bonus ability which, when activated, uses stone form on the nearest familiar. Remember to like this comment if it helped you, and feel free to ask me any question.

How goes the Underscape while I was gone Visage?

Just randomed this hero in an AP game and it was my first time playing him. This hero seems to get better into mid and late game, which was a little confusing since I usually expect int heroes to be better early game. Regardless, he was tough to play, and I wouldn't necessarily recommend him unless you can micro the ult really well. The dudes takes a while to land in stone form so you really have to lead them ahead of the guy you're hoping to stun.

i use him as a support in early game, tank in mid game and carrier in late game

Visage is my favourite and best hero. Never lost a game with him (Alright, i've only played 5 games as him, but still) And i hardly ever die :D

Visage is really powerful ganker and nuker. He should not be played as support.. he become useless as supp. Amulet of Courage, Scepter and Assault Courais/Desolator and he's banging all.

Visage isn't a pub stomper but in the right hands can turn around team battles with his familiars.

I wouldn't say bad, I'd say different. I've played through all 4 Visages, being the second to last the one I most enjoy, however this new Visage have some new powerful tools that make it shine during team fights, such as a up to 6 second stun as well as a 380 damage skill that can be cast every 4 seconds. From what I gather the previous version's main flaw was how situational it was, but oh well, it's Visage, and I still love him.

Gotta love how Valve adds easter eggs and weird but hilarious shit everywhere: Visage says "You shall not pass" when killing Ezalor (He looks like Gandalf), and "Herp Derp Dirge" when killing Undying. Almost every hero got some jokes on him, lol

I recently played a game of single draft, and I decided that I had no other choice but to play Visage. I do not regret choosing him; on my first game as him I went 21/6/18

Back then there was the only one person working on the game at a time, and it was still considered by all as a mod and a mod only, there was only starting to be some mobas coming out at that time and none of them were famous beyond its original playerbase, now its different. Icefrogs got a whole team with him so you can't complain now and Guinsoo has got a whole team with him as well and he has said he wants to release heroes constantly which is why it gets rushed

Night Elf Archer is still available, sprites can also be customized like what they did to Phantom Lancer..

Visage: 2 single target spells, both are easy to use + (familiar have 1 aoe ability that you don't have to aim)*3=5 abilities. Meepo: (1 aoe ability, that you have to aim + 1 single spell, which effectiveness depends on your skill)*4=8 abilites (10 with scepter) Also, if one of your familiars dies, it's only 100 gold to killer, and nothing more. But if one of your clones dies, it's death for all Meepos. And you can (and should) farm multiple spots/lanes while plying Meepo, in contrast of Visage.

If you get fed in any the two games it gets tough, in dota if you get fed early, your character is most probably the type to be going to scale down lategame and in dota, you can shutdown any hero with good co-ordination. If someone gets fed in dota, and doesn't win before the enemy gets max lvl and full builds, they too can turn around. You simply need to know what to do and do it successfully to turn around a game of dota but its extremely difficult most of the

Its not really a bug though. Pudge hooks a guy, then drags them to his position. If he gets teleported, then tough luck, the target will still get dragged to his position.

He means that, with heroes being release at this speed, there will probably be added completely new ones when all original heroes are released

Exactly, if you build him right. But keep in mind though that this works best when against burst damage heroes -Lina, Tusk, Lion, Nyx, etc.-, and if you are facing heros that deal damage in great quantity, even if it's minimum (read: Troll, Pudge's rot, Drow, ESPECIALLY SLARK and so on) your passive is pretty much wasted. So if you want to play a tank Visage you must keep in mind which enemies can or cannot fuck you up. Pretty much like not picking Skywrath against pugna and all that meta stuff

We dont have names for the different builds but we dont have names for them. Its all situational for us. As u probably kno, there are 3 stats agi, str, and int. Sometimes we build different stat items on a completely different stat hero because it helps. We dont have a ad or ap but we can build a hero to utilize different things. Dota heroes are never built the same way every game, and every build is viable as long as it fits the situation and the team start. I cant go into detail because there

It's not a bug because teleporting to base is not as simple as in lol. To tp you either need a tp scroll, which can't be used with hook or another hero. If pudge was w chen, then chen would cast his tp spell, and pudge can hook BUT the tp has a delay of cca. 3 seconds, which means you need to hook someone in precisely the given time, and it takes a LOT of skill to time it right. The other method is with wisp, which gives you more time, but is more difficult. Not a bug, pure skill and teamwork.

I think he means now that Dota 2 has its own engine there will be a lot of hero mechanics that could not be coded in WC3. Eventually Icefrog will add heroes that won't have a counterpart in Dota 1 simply because of the engine limitations.

Visage is such a sick hero. After maxing soul assumption max out the armor and start ganking like fuck because you're not gonna die early-mid game.

It was one of the strongest dota1 heroes, and probably strongest dota2 hero atm. Noone can fight him in current metagame.

I like both games too but when youre high man...you realize how much better dota is. The mindgames... the animation cancel feints...being extremely underleveled and underfarmed and still feel like you play a huge role in fights...having more unique combination of item builds...Yea I'm high

yeah, I know. I've played LoL for over 2 years before moving to Dota 2, but my statement still stands. There's no end to hate/bashing/trolling if no one ever ends it.

Thank you I see it being preferable to have them based on the new engine since Rubik for example got his ulti to work on transformation spells the way it was meant to. Also remember that Valve wants to go for the largest player base possible, something to just keep in mind.

Actually, that Is a good job. Those heroes existed before, they are being remade very fast, and very good. And there will be new heroes, sooner or later. We still have to wait for a good number of missing heroes yet.

i know that your illusions in LoL don't have spells but what does that have to do with "it's not fun when a game plays for you" you can control your summoned units or illusions in lol just hold ALT and click where you want him to go

Ummm, he was actually very used in Dota competitive play, when trilane vs trilane situtations were popular. That nuke is that so strong, after you get Arcane boots on him.... Heroes will go down and let's not forgot his pushing power + slow.

I pick him in every single game since he has been ported to dota2 and used to play him in dota 1 half of the time, this hero is awesome but heavily underrated, he is not even borring, has tremendous ganking power, but is just too complex for little brains.

I agree 100%. Thank you for being an actually intelligent on the subject and well informed. Some of the dota fanboys are to ignorant to actually look at LoL as a game. LoL is more popular because it is a LOT more noob friendly, but can still be played competievely and is very fun because of the amount of champions(i think more than dota 2 at this time correct me if im wrong) while dota is a lot more in depth but a really large learning curve with weird stats that confuse me personally ;/

In d2 visage is weaker than in d1: familiars attract aggression from creeps and neutrals, meaning they often die while simply travelling in woods. Also axe and omni instantly pwns them. And they auto attack, wasting their bonus damages. They require more time to fly from stone form. The range of his nuke is reduced while chasing (in d1 the cast was "more instant", now visage sometimes won't cast it). The model is bigger and easier to click

Yes there are the given masteries and summoner spells that are the best for a champion but there are atleast 2 more ways to play him. Also Dota heros have 4 abilities ( usually ) and lol have 7 ( i am counting all passives ) and there are lol heroes with more, but there are dota heroes with more. The diference is that dota has atributes which doesn't let you go stacking a ton of agility an intell hero ( i know you can get some for the armor ). But the reason they are both complex is:

Yeah, first point in your passive and an early medallion of courage will remedy that. You should always try to max out your passive skill first with him.

Visage was one of my favorite heroes I'm glad hes in the game now.

That really is a bug because it utilizes his long and impossible range with some items, making it gain an extra abilities or range. We had the same problem. Blitzcrank, could use Flash over the wall or into his tower to pull others into tower range for first blood. That is unfair because the pull already creates and advantage. Also, Skarner + Teleport + Ultimate to teleport his targets right into a Summoner Platform (Well). The games are basically PvP, not PvT (terrain)

And he never realized that Skeleton King was made by the person who made LoL ...

Real money can't be used to buy runes in LoL (although you can buy runepages). Runes can be only purchased with IP, a currency rewarded at the end of each game.

I would argue that he has a high learning curve but most of his difficulty is in microing his familiars while his other spells are straight forward in design. If you can get over that hurdle then he's a great hero.

why does everyone think runes make LoL a "pay to win" game? when you start an account you have to level up in order to gain rune slots which you do by playing matches. While you play these matches you also get IP (which can be used to buy runes). and by lvl 30 you have all rune slots unlocked but by then you will have had enough IP to buy 2 or more full rune pages. so basically the people who pay for runes will only be able to have a wider variety of them...

actually when a new hero comes out in the next version of dota (6.75) dota 2 will also release it.. or if icefrog already decides to work on dota 2 once it's fully accomplished and free of bugs, we still get new heroes whatever happens

Visage is only hard at first, but once you get a hang of micro-ing, it should be as easy as other heroes. Similar to Mee pok.

Yeah, they were both actually made by creators of the original Dota. Some went to Riot, others went on to make Dota 2. :)

I think Visage is heavily punished in the current meta (7.25-7.26) I feel it in every game where gold and exps mechanics were changed. Still, Visage as a mid means playing in a huge timer. And Visage as a support still gives a strong foundation to any carry.

Maybe with the scepter he can bound more familiars to the realm.

Well the think is with meepo you stay passive until level 6, so you dont need to be good at last hitting and then you wander into the jungle. Which means last hitting obviously isn't to do and the chance of ganks and harass on you is lower in general pubs. For Pub play it should be enough to kill the entire jungle with meepos fast farming speed and you are already outleveling the enemys. Basically you win by farming, while with mortred/spectre you have to last hit very good to get your farm.

Love Valve. I hope the new hero will be based around the D2 engine, retro players will get mad but I still wana see it.

just want u to know that lightofheaven used this hero, and chineses also uses this hero competitively. visage is a beast in its own way. its not a pub hero, and it is never was, because visage has never been a user friendly hero to be a popular one. and this hero is quite deadly for trilanes setups.

You have to remember Icefrog is working for them so any changes in Dota 1 might get transferred over to dota 2 including heroes.

that is a horrible misconception. Whenever u activate ur ulti any current familiars will be re-summoned. The only way to get more than 2 familiars is to get agh's scepter.
