You can doodle with dots! You just have to be willing to take your time, and truly amazing results are possible. In fact, I think it can get sort of therapeutic and fun at the same time.

I love "the dots that went for a walk". I loved the way you described things in this video. It sounds like it could be a very Zen meditation type process to me. I'm going to give this a try later once I'm done feeding my fur baby monsters. Bless you Peter ! I hope it's just allergies and not a cold. Thanks for the inspiration as always. 💋❤🧡💛💚💙💜💋

Watching and listening to this video was an amazing experience! Thank for that. I could totally see everything you've talked about the sculpting, and the white spots as being the untouched surface was such an incredible observation and created an awesome additional layer to the video and your artwork.

Hi Peter! I just started playing with stippling a few days ago and I am hooked! Yours is like the 5th tutorial I've looked at and I so resonate 100% with your thought processes. Just for the sake of being an obedient student, I began with the suggested value scales and pre-sketches etc, but when I just started to lay down dots to see what unfolds, the real magic began and I was delighted!I've done a little sculpting and I'm sure you would be a natural, I hope you have tried it since your video. I teach Qi gong and meditation classes and your approach is very Zen. Thanks so much!

I love the point you make of “breaks really are the key here...” which could be advice that transcend stippling into other work that we tend to almost rush on autopilot instead of focusing and then letting go and appreciating each piece of any process.

Hi there, I just wanted to say that your awesome stippling artworks inspired and motivated me to try out stippling on my own. Went for a snake with leaves for my first try. It rlly is fun and also calming/therapeutic/medidative (if that's the right word, english isn't my main language). Will definitely do it again, but then with more breaks inbetween to rest my hand/wrist.

I love the point you made about 'the sculpting manner' of stipling, because that was exactly what I was looking for in a drawing class I'm taking, but haven't been finding there. I kept thinking that I wanted to 'feel as if I'm sort of sculpting into the negative space.' Then I stumbled upon stipling and thought, ''that's it!'' Now you have confirmed that that IS what it is!

I'm working on my first ever stippling piece. I too am using a 9x12" piece of paper, Bristol to be exact. Man is it ever time-consuming. I'm doing mine in color, so I can take a short break each time I want to switch colors and that helps my hand not cramp up, but I need to find a way to keep it from hurting my back or neck.
