For people curious about the spring tension pushing the bolt back in, it is a fixable QA issue. I've disassembled mine and found two to three things. One. The factory grease is bad, clean it out and replace it with something better. Two. If your bolt end (Bolt Sleeve) is loose I found that out of the box one of the hex screws holding the bolt together is screwed in too much which is not holding the bolt together just screw it enough for the bolt to hold together. Three. The claw extractor (plastic) is loose from DIY tutorials just use masking tape to tighten it up. After all of those things be sure to lube the bolt properly and it will cycle smoothly. I hope this help.
This is a great rifle to play with for a couple rounds just to feel like a chad when you get kills, also it’s a great conversation starter on the field. Other then that it’s so cool to have in a collection
I have this in real wood. spring version. its my first BASR haha. i absolutely love it bec i love tinkering and DIY. I have a few things to say before you get this: first, barrel can be upgraded by EDGI but its fully custom made. Spring too can be replicated by them absolutely love the shell ejecting mechanism but it damages the shells which isbmade fron soft metal. the strong point of this gun is the shell, which ironically its own weakness. if dropped on a hard surface, it dents the tip which makes the BB stuck. the Oring at the back end of the shell can also get removed bec of the bolt which if lost, will render the shell useless( so best to super glue the oring actually) u cant find a proper Oring size that is applicable to it. (i tried) if the shell tip is damaged, the BB goes out damaged, and bites off your RARE hop rubber (ucant find a replacement rubber, but u can DIY with a semi soft piece of rubber, thats what i did) the stock barrel is 2parts: 6.04mm going to 6.07mm which is absolutely horrendous (u need to upgrade it to edgi get a decent consistent grouping) this is a shell ejecting airsoft, so if u want it to last, u cant play it as a shell ejecting airsoft. ironic. yes. try your best to catch of stop the shell from hitting the floor. the shells are expesive af and difficult to find. FPS wise, i wouldnt recommend upgrading to a stronger spring. yes you can upgrade it but you cant find a replacement trigger sear if you happen to break that
I’m thinking about getting the spring version, is the bolt as hard as other spring snipers? If it’s not I’m guessing the FPS is low. I’ve seen people make 3D printed shells for other guns in airsoft I’m guessing you could probably do the same with this too
@@topgun9987 the bolt as hard as other basr? u mean the performance of the bolt? or the stiffness of the spring? if its the spring i would say after 4000shots its roughly 300fps with 0.2gms. with my DIY mods i can hit a human size target at 300 feet with 0.28gms. its imp to note that this is a push bolt. the spring length is 15cm. i can get the spring replicated by edGi but im worried about the trigger sear. im not sure which BASR has the same trigger sear
@@aznpwr9900 ah okay that’s the thing I was looking for, didn’t know it was a push bolt. Doesn’t affect my choice in buying it though. How is it out of the box with no mods?
@@topgun9987 horrible out of the box. accuracy is all over the place. cant hit a human size target at 60 feet (not exaggerating). shells keep getting stuck in ejector. Bbs wont fire from the shells. sometimes fires Bb a second after u pulled the trigger. even as a plinking gun its frustrating to play with. alot of owners of this gun gave up and just hang it on the wall. even with all the mods i made it still wont be comfortable as a gun for skirmishing, but atleast with the mod i made its good enough for plinking now
Do you know what type of metal the gun is made of im planning on aging mine i want to strip all the black paint off of it & use some gun blue on the metal ?
@nevercool3977 Hey! Pls I need your opinion. If you were mad about the gun, and u still wanna skirmish knowing u have to go fetch after shooting your shots ( or you have a shell catcher that works decently ) would this one be playable? like range, accuracy, power, endurance? I tho about the gas version but spring is always the way to go for a sniper IMO. THANKS !! Hope you can answer cause I've been thinking bout it for DAYS! hahaha
The bolt is metal and you probably could replace the body but you'd have to really know what you're doing. Don't think it was designed to be fully disassembled
I got mine in two tone, would I be able to use nail polish to remove that paint without damaging the wood finish? Also what kind of grease should I use for the bolt? Cheers pal!
I've only ever removed paint from one gun and it was a pain. I predominantly used white spirit which eventually did the job. Using white spirit on wood would likely dry it out and damage the finish. Sorry I can't be more help
Just ordered one from Amazon but yea there is no way I’m using this on the field it’s going to my collection lol also great video thx for all the info 👏
i just broke mine in 10mins i had it :( the shell ejector pin is snapped. I wonder if i can get that small metal piece without paying €70 for the whole bolt assembly?
what is the point in wearing gloves to do a review? Not everybody is a skirmisher, some of us just like to collect and shoot paper targets. Its not just a wall hanger! No comments on accuracy?
Don't know why I wear gloves, call it an unconscious decision This is an Airsoft channel so I talk as an airsofter/ skirmisher In terms of Airsoft skirmish it's very impractical so yeah, to me it's a wall hanger 🤷♂️ Because I consider it a wall hanger I don't bother going into detail about the accuracy.
@nevercool3877 My point was when it comes to historical airsoft replicas there are a lot of us that just like to collect and shoot them. We aren't all bothered about running around in a wood like a thing possessed shooting at other people. Airsoft is not just about skirmishing just the same as air guns and shotguns are not just about hunting. That's why is useful to see how good the accuracy is when looking at a review. Apart from that your review was good.
@@nevercool3877In ww1 it was the Gewehr 98. Longer barrel and straight bolt. The Kar98K was an upraded carbine version and was not used by the german army until 1935
