Pls how can I make a 360 flare for a 45 - inch skirt. I haven't found anyone that has done this. They all keep posting for short skirts. I'm using 3.5 yards by 60 inches

I think you'll have to cut 2 half circles for you to have a 360 flare.....

I’ve watched other videos and they have it as four fold. This is a double circle pattern so you would need to cut this twice. This person has done 8 fold to save time by not needing to fold and cut out the pattern 2 times. Honestly if it was me I’d do four fold and cut it out twice because it can be bulky and tricky to cut fabric like the person in this video has done but that’s just down to preference.

I always thought that making a double circle skirt would be much harder than this. I'm so happy as this is in my ability range! How do you calculate waist radius? Where is 3.14 coming from?

Essentially, 3.14 is the first 3 digits of pi. The math equation to find the radius of the waist (how much you need to cut off) is radius = circumference / 2pi The circumference is the waist, along with the seam allowance since we are sewing. 12.56 is the first 3 digits of pi (3.14) multiplied by 4, because she uses 2 pieces of fabric instead of 1 to do the waist (which gives more volume to the skirt) and so she needs to make the part that she cuts off at the corner half as big. 18 / 12.56 = 1.433

Yes I did that’s 3.14 x 4 = 12.56 This is done because it’s double circle skirt. If it was one circle, we would divide by 6.28 which is 3.14 x 2 = 6.28 Hope this clarifies!
