Double Din Radio in a 97-01  

The microphone location isn't the best. I can't stand how obtrusive these remote mics look, so unfortunately I have to deal with it, but I would have run it up to the top of the "A" pillar with a cable extension in my next build. As far as spacing... its trial and error. Ill say that a head unit without a CD/DVD is much more shallow and way easier to install. Today media is all via streaming / SD storage anyways, so consider a Media Double DIN with Android Auto

I can do a video showing you how to pull on the bezel to remove it. Honestly, this was more centered around the double din (which wasn't possible before this kit without extensive work). I wouldn't recommend anyone who doesn't know the basics around the Jeep console to attempt this install until you are more comfortable.

It's a great head unit the Sony, but we do have a single 12 with a Crunch 1000w in the back.

Yes, we cut a small section out of each, but YMMV based on the unit you get and where the screws line up.

Yes! Metra now makes a kit. Easy peasy. No trimming really necessary.
