Once they announced this dlc, all my interest for other games dropped to zero. Having Billy and Jimmy playable in RCG2's combat system is a dream come true.
It definitely caught my interest. I've been playing a lot of Double Dragon Gaiden so this is a welcome addition to the mix! Also, nice avatar! Are you playing as Sonny in Double Dragon Gaiden?
Heck yeah, I'm getting it. I loved RCG2. I hope they announce a part 3. If they do bring part 3, I hope they keep Marian as a playable character, because her bruiser style was fun. Oh, they could expand the fighting styles of the characters this time. Give us a speedster, a range fighter, a counter type maybe?
I forgot how much I paid for that game. It was a pretty long one though and did have a cool open world style beat em up concept which sort of justified it.
Me too! I'm really glad that both of these series are part of the beat em up revival. This was a genre that was ignored far too long after games mostly went 3D.
@@CDiArcade here's a fun fact tho, I bought these 2 nes titles awhile back and noticed something really odd about these two titles that connected the RCR and DD series, the two titles: Target and Target: Renegade are one in the same Universe with DD and RCR for other words, they happen to be not a cross over but a complete story in itself! At first I thought it was crossover, it has to be. But then I did a further dig in it, and found that they both exist in the same world of each other. It's crazy but true!! Lmao XD Either way I love the whole series and can't wait for dlc.not to mention RARE who does the Soundtrack for Battletoads and Double Dragon series did the soundtrack for Target and Renegade If you play Target which is part 1 of River City Ransom, and then play Target: Renegade which is part 2 the Billy Lee is the first character you play as in part 2. Where in part 1 it's Kunio. It was meant to be a spinoff joke but then took a real beat em classic tone. And thus the series were born.
I think I got Target Renegade but I will have to look. Is that the one that got redone to look like The Warriors? I also recommend Crash & The Boys Street Challenge and Super Dodgeball on NES. They are both connected to RCR too.
@@CDiArcade most definitely, ive actually been nes hunting and haven't found ay of them but I am Still continuing my search still, because I hear their are over 9 titles of RCR and DD series and I figured It's time to collect them!! Yeah, it's the one that has a crazy Chinese man jumping with a jump kick on the cover lol 😂 as soon as you play the game, you'll immediately see the sprite that resembles the dou le dragon character sprite, the Target which is part 1 has the art cover of a white man beating up several hooligans on the street. Also those titles are made by "Taito" and yes Taito and Acclaim, Tecmo LTD companies goes by the same Name as RARE Studios. Then the kicense got dropped and bought by XBOX as Microsoft. All that aside, you play Target, you'll see a resemblance to River City Ransom character sprite. Trusts me it's crazy but those games came Out first DD and RCR. Nintendo sure did restrict games to being made up to 5 titles only. XD
At this point I think I need to start the game over. Its been a while since I played and I have no idea where I left off. If I get to start over with the Double Dragon twins then that's even better!
@@CDiArcade speaking of which, Chin Tai Mei and Chin Sei Mei are also brothers. Chin Tei is the thin and fast one and Chin Sei is the heavy slower one. They both have cool moves, but according to the Wiki, Chin Sei is the younger brother. He looks a lot more like Chin Tei’s older brother to me! What do you think?
I highly suggest both River City Girls 1 and 2. They are really solid games. Tons of references to Double Dragon and the old River City games with Kunio.
River City Girls 2 DLC better have more Story. no real point in playing it again just cuz they added Jimmy and Billy as extra characters. Well, that's my opinion. The rest of you May really just like the game and the Story.
I don't think this game is really in that vein. I think it was an in joke for the DD intros I showed. Her design in Double Dragon Gaiden is very different from this.
