Majestic place to watch and a sense of a timecapsule of rail history ,but one gripe ,why oh why do the authorities not get the weed killing equipment working around as to clear the vegetation growing here there and everywhere ,seemed to remember there were prizes for a mile length of track and trackside in pristine condition.
they are 37s but network rail have numbered them as a 97 and people get confused on what to actually call them. i saw a network rail class 37 a few months ago on the east midlands branch line going up.
Great vid mate, on a par with Phil Clarke. (Compliment). That's my old patch,, 179gang Shrewsbury Station. It was never that bad, Weed wise. Nice to see Severn Bridge box still going strong. Great vid mate. Thanks for sharing. 👍😎
Absolutely bloomin fantastic video bud... You had ideal weather for the pleasure of your brilliant video.. I've never been to Shrewsbury railway station, it seems like its in a bygone era..... Well done my friend....
Nice footage bud. My mate and customer at my work is on that special. Heard it was a 67 loco to there but was shocked to see it was a shed and not a skip. Oh well few teething issues they are having north of welshpool from what I gathered but he's having a blast.
Thanks - The 97 class are the only locomotive type compatible with the Welsh Coast Cambrian Line signalling system. Shrewsbury station does need weed killer! 👍
It is Mainline. Also, it was NEVER that bad when I was in the Track Gang there . 1985-95 ,, it was Perfect, lol. Agreed it is a bloody mess. Railtrack need to bring back the 'Weedkiller ' trains. With a pair of class20s, naturally. Hope your keeping well mate. All the best from Wales. Ian Jones (Crewe Railcam) 😀👍😎
@@trainsplanes I used to spread weedkiller by hand . I was in Station gang, 85-95. My old cabin is behind the bloody weeds to the right. Spent many nights sleeping up in the box. Great days. Cracking vid mate. Crewe junction end, is also a mess. It was never like that, probably because 'Rail House' offices and bosses, used to be at the end of platform 3. 👍😎
@@trainsplanes Well, 97's and the 158's of course. They're going to bring back steam for The Cambrian Coast Express with a diesel on the back at some point. Would be great to see steam return.
Why do the 97s only have one Fuel tank ? What is the framework for, where missing tank was fitted. Ertms???? Love the old Tractors. Bring back Portable Retb radios, then any loco can come down the Cambrian. 👍😎
That's not the issue, the issue for other loco's being unable to come down is the signalling. Believe me cause I live in Borth and I was on the Cambrian Coast Express yesterday, still have my ticket lmao. I was in Coach B, Seat 32.
@@GWRPhotographer is there any signals on the Cambrian ??? Wasnt it all done by RETB, Radio Electronic Token Block, all via Mach power box. How else did 55022 Royal Scots Grey get down there. Only the 97s are fitted with Ertms,, that's why the Network Rail test train with the Colas37 and dbso, was headed in both directions by the 97. Same as when the large logo 37/4 came down on the Auto Ballaster. The 97 was leading both ways. Hope I haven't confused the issue . 👍😎
