Q: What method do I use to shiny hunt?
A: I use the Permutation method; Short explanation is that I catch and/or KO pokemon in a horde in a specific order to change the spawns in the second horde and hopefully find a shiny. This works for hunting regular pokemon and alphas. For a more in-depth explanation, I recommend checking out Austin John Plays as he's put out some informative videos regarding this method. I also managed to get a shiny alpha golbat. However I got it from a non-star outbreak of zubats so that was cool. Great effort put into this, by the way!

I see you did the permutation method on Raichu. It's so great for alphas but it's a pain as well when they takes ages to shine

Same thing happened to me when I was hunting Chimcar in a massive mass outbreak. I got a shiny Chimcar first, and then got a shiny Monferno in the second horde.

Do you have any suggestions on how to shiny hunt alphas from hordes? The only 2 Shiny Alpha pokemon i have are from random finds in the wild.

I don't know weather to be respectful of you or fearful for you when you don't save. Also, can I get a tip on how to get massive obs to spawn? Have had zero since the ones from the missions.

First, update your game version to 1.1.1, this can be done via the internet. By doing this, you will have access to the daybreak quest. After you complete the story, you will have access to mmos. To find an alpha horde, you will need to find an area with a ? on the map. Then go there. Once in the area, find Mai and her muchlax talk to her and feed the mychlax 5 aguav berries. You will see what the oubreaks are. If you see one with a star icon go there. Clear the first outbreak and you should see this text : 'A new horde seems to have formed'. Congradulations, you have and alpha outbreak with 6-8 alphas guarranteed. Have a good day:)
