In this tutorial I show you how to make your own double sided wirework rose links. They can also be used as charms and work perfectly for jewellery with a lot of movement when worn, as there isn't a front and a back. Please feel free to give it a go yourself and I hope you enjoy.

Very nice rose charm or pendant. Clever way to make a double-sided rose. I would have used heavier gauge and made a single rose, and finished off with the two loops on either end. I am making a rose necklace using a carved goldstone rose with carnelian faceted beads. I can now add some copper roses as charm beads to the necklace. Really pleased about this. Thank you for this demo. Thank you for no music! What a joy to have just a soothing human voice with no background din. fyi for viewers: I used 24 inches of either 20 gauge or 28 gauge copper square wire (not round) and made a rose ring. I used a size 8.5 mandrel, added 4 coils for the ring, then made a rose and tucked in the ends on the band edges. I used 18 gauge half round wire for banding on either side. The flat side of half round adheres well to the flat ends of the square wire. The domed side gives a nice circular texture against the sharp edges of the square wire. The square wire rose has lovely crisp petal edges, and looks much better than round wire. I urge everyone to start using square wire, which is so much nicer. Remember that square wire feels and is, thicker than round wire in the same gauge. Half round is thinner and more delicate than round wire in the same gauge. Always buy half round wire on spools not coils as it tangles easily and impossible to spool yourself.

Cristina, Love your tutorials. I first learned to macrame with your tutorials, after watching so many on you tube yours are the easiest to understand. I couldn't tell you how many bookbag pulls with school colors with a bulldog charms for my granddaughter. Shes in all kinds of sports and gives them to teamates. I would like to try these rose links but I have a question about the wire. Will the copper wire patina or do you buy non tarnish? My repertoire of jewelry making is small from only starting at age 62. I firmly believe in always learning and I thank you all the great teaching and inspiration. You may not realize how much you contribute, but you do. Thank you, Patricia Cunningham

Hello Cristina, I've been following you and watching your tutorials for a long time and love everything you make but especially how calmly and good you explain everything, but I've never dared to attempt to give wirework ago so I never bought wire. Could you please tell me where you buy your wire? I live in Belgium (Europe) so I can order it England with no trouble at all. Thanks a lot for answering and greetings, Sindy 💞
