some beatbox recommendations: - musicality and singing: + wing - killing me softly + stitch - feels like nothing + river - by ourselves + show-go - (idk literally any beatbox song by him) - insane vocal stuff: + vocodah - headbangers + osis - conceal + remix - vip (all of these are solo beatbox, but insanely good)
Good selection! I also love Wing’s GBB23 Wildcard (round 1) and River’s Wildcard from 2021! (I’m probably partial to those ones for introducing me to the artist, being my first love of their music and all)
Jairo is a real blessing for the beatboxing community! They're amazing! Gonna drop some suggestions for reactions here! More musical: Codfish - Sail with me (less vocals in this one, but still good) alexinho - choose Stitch - Feels Like Nothing Gene Shinozaki - hello Show-go - Make up your mind (anything from Show-go is gonna be good tbh) Naturally 7 - Wall of Sound (This one is OLD. It does use some vocal layering and such, but it's really fun) Insane sounds: D-low - Bonedust INDICATOR - I'm an Alien Azel - Demuth Trung Bao - Venom Remix - Given Vocodah - Demons Ale - Lost in the Forest Unique: ALEM - DEEP SINGING BOWL & BEATBOX There are hundreds more amazing routines I could link, but I felt like keeping it short :)
Both songs you reacted to were also done live by Jairo in the GBB 2023: World League Tag-Team category. Huge congrats to them, they ended up getting 2nd place.
As an acapella-head, one group you NEED to check out is Beatpella House - they've only done a few full-length videos, but they are what happens when you form an acapella group with a singer and four world-class beatboxers. Their cover of Blackpink's "Pink Venom" was so flawless it got picked up by RU-vid's automated song detection as the original! For vocal-heavy solo beatbox I'll echo some of the other recommendations: Wing - Killing Me Softly, Gene - Metamorphosis, DEN - Moments I Had, Show-Go - Silver, of course there are hundreds of good videos out there.
So glad you got to come back to Jairo, excited to see their videos taking off now! These ones were mixed by Shimo-Ren who was a big part of the beatbox group New Schooler that was popular for a while but disbanded.
Jairo is an absolute diamond in the rough. They recently released another routine called Get Through, and it's definitely worth the attention. Thank you Mortius ✌️
I love the beatbox reactions! I recommend Beatpella (portmanteau of beatbox + acapella; perfect for this channel) House's 7uk and Pink Venom (group beatbox) and Den's Moments I Had and Show go's Silver (solo beatbox). All these songs have singing and vocals as a major part of the song, in fact all of Show go's and Den's tracks have a strong vocal element. If you want more duo beatbox I recommend Den and Balistix's Love Love Love.
Beatboxing really is so cool! (Unfortunately I am already subscribed to your channel but I keep being a fan of your reactions and analysis as you cover the genres I like.) Keep going! ❤
Awesome to see your back to beatbox reactions. I highly highly recommend you check one of Den's BBU rounds such as sensations or twisted fate. He is a very musical solo beatboxer and all his rounds feature singing as well. So you get to see singing and beatbox from one human.
The ssshhhh was created by pushing air out. Then you can still use your tongue and lips to make other sounds, and also you can do vocals. That’s how they made multiple sounds at once. Edit: the really low note was type of lip roll.
It's the crackle bass that blows my mind. Never heard anyone else do that, not sure how they get it that clean. It sounds like record player hiss at the end of a record.
7:31 now THIS is why I watch every single reaction there is to be about these videos. This the input I expect when musicians and/or vocalists react to these tracks... Thanks Mortius!
The really cool part is that the unison tongue roll wasn't post production or anything. They actually performed this live in their GBB 2023 battle against Rogue Wave (Colaps and River. two beatboxers you saw in "If only").
I really think you'd love New Schooler. They're disbanded now, but they did some amazing tracks with a lot of acapella and beatbox mixed. I'd recommend Ado or their Dua Lipa cover, but anything they did is great tbh.
Hey Mortius, I just discovered your channel and there is something about listening to an specialist that don't know beatbox really well and is discovering as it goes that makes it sooo interesting for me. I love it, please, keep going. Can I suggest you react to 2 videos? You will probably enjoy a beatboxer named Den, from Canadá. React to these, if possible: Den - Moments I Had Den - Sensations The are all made by Den and only Den. Not tag teams. Those broke the internet when they where released. Also, Stitch - Feels like Nothing will probably break your mind. All of these are beatboxers with awesome singing abilities!
You really need to check out KRNFX and his loop pedal works. As well as his work with walk off the earth. All of it is an incredible library that I think you will thoroughly enjoy. I am a former vocalist in a choir (damage my throat and can’t sing much anymore, not that it stops me from around the house 😂) and the talent these people have, as well as all those who use these styles is truly incredible. Their flexibility and variability. Beautiful artwork. The bass control in this video. It’s on another level. Great reaction.
Please do check out their gbb compilation. It's very interesting as the audio on the competition is less mixing, and you can hear it clearly how well they perform live.
The roll you described is also an easy sound to recreate in beatboxing world, is a tongue roll, but made by both of them is vocalized. But not a post production thing 😊 NICE CONTENT
If you want a vocal beatbox the best one for me is gene shinozaki with his song metamorphosis, but if you want to be blown away I would listen to d-low with his 30 different basses video
King Inertia. He has lungs of iron and we would love to see you react to him. A good video is Collard Greens cover from King Inertia and his battle with Helium is a great example
If you want to see exactly how un post produces these are, they performed both of these songs live on stage in competition ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-53eyK6eKAoo.html
