Love it! Cheers, bud! I'm going to be doing a keezer build on my channel soon. This is a great idea for 4th of July or any other big get-togethers!

Hi Larry, when I used to work as a cellarman in the pubs over here in Australia, the jockey box systems we used to hire out to customers were designed to drain the water away from the ice for the best performance. If your happy with the results your getting no problems its just that they work best with just the ice surrounding the lines. Cheers :-)

That's not what I've ever seen recommended. All the directions I've ever got from brewers was to make sure you have a combo of ice and water, not just ice.

Use SS coils if you can, cost a lot more but no problems with taste.

When you pulled the drinks for temperature, had they been stagnant?50 ft of 3/8" tubing holds about 16 oz of fluid. If the line is stagnant for a few minutes, the beverage has a chance to cool. Pull a few glasses and you'll draw the chill out of the copper line. What is the temp for the person about 6th in line? A 16 oz cup, filled to 3/4 full is 12 oz.. You poured a glass in about 9 seconds, by the 3rd cup, your pre chilled stagnant beer is out. Now your beer is going in at room temp and coming out chilled. A good demo would be to show the temp before going in, and then again after coming out, after a pitcher has been pulled, to warm the line.

Great video, I was thinking of inserting 12 awg bare ground wire inside the copper coils for increased resistance in the flow, to decrease foam. I'd like your thoughts, and thanks!

I think the additional turbulence would mean more foam in the beer. I've also since switched to stainless coils to rid of any concern about copper taste in the beer.

Larry - you were sounding a bit rough on the day after the party. The beer and cider must have been good. Glad the performance met your specs. Cheers!

Hello Larry, do You refrigerate kegs before serving? What will happen if the beer in keg is around 75f and go through line with ice? I think of making such contraption but I won't have the opportunity to chill the keg.

Hi Larry, great videos. Question about the CO2, what PSI do you typically have to run it at for a 50' coil?

lol not a cider fan, and i have made that one you had and can't see myself doing it again...blonde ale on the other hand is a different matter.

i have a question, can a beer freeze in pipe? because i want to convert my old freezer in a kegerator, i think that alcohol in beer prevents it from freezing, and i would make a coil soaked in a salt water, or glycol water solution in order to transfer temp faster and salt water or glycol doesnt freeze. BTW thanks for the vide, great instructions

How do you deal with beer's decarbonation because the high temperature?
@BEERNBBQBYLARRY
@BEERNBBQBYLARRY 2 года назад
Not sure what you mean by that. A warmer temperature increases pressure in a fixed volume, but the amount of gas remains the same.
@amadeomendez6646
@amadeomendez6646 2 года назад
@@BEERNBBQBYLARRY Yes but the gas absorbed by the beer depends on the temperature.

@@amadeomendez6646 and pressure.
@amadeomendez6646
@amadeomendez6646 2 года назад
@@BEERNBBQBYLARRY Yes, it does, that's because I wonder, is there a need to deal with a decarbonated beer? or as you suggest, the increase in the head space pressure is enough to make the CO2 volumes almost constant, even though beer tends to lose CO2 absortion due to the same temperature increasing... I really don't know.
@BEERNBBQBYLARRY
@BEERNBBQBYLARRY 2 года назад
@@amadeomendez6646 physics will handle that via the ideal and real gas laws. It really isn’t an issue except that warm beer will be way overcarbonated requiring a longer beer line to balance the foam during a pour.

Interesting equipment. Nevertheless the outcome is a seriously too cold beer. Could ruin someones throat IMO. Slight adjustments might solve it. Super idea. Thanks.
