Make bibimbab (mixed rice bowl) and use gochujang as the sauce. Really easy to make. It’s just rice, cooked veggies and a fried egg. Drizzle toasted sesame oil (also a TJ product) and a half teaspoon of gochujang. Enjoy! Healthy and delicious!
As a Jamaican I was so worried about the new beef patties and how authentic they would be but I tried one yesterday and I approve 🇯🇲. Nothing beats fresh but it’s good enough for a quick and tasty snack. I hope Tim like it!
Welcome back, Katie! I hope you and the fam had a fabulous vacation! What an awesome haul, looking forward to seeing you all in the taste test tomorrow 🥰
Another fabulous post!! Love the new apparel and in this post so funny you took a big breath and said kindergarten!! Wow, this is a big deal! The olive oil is a steal - hope to get some + hope you had a wonderful time south of the border. I really enjoyed recently watching your vlog of Thailand. Go girl - from Colorado!!
Friendly tip from a Kindergarten teacher: It is helpful if the students know how to open their own packages/containers. I also have a dedicated pair of scissors to cut packages! Good luck to Benson!
Oh that’s good to know. Luckily Benson is great at opening all his snacks. We have been trying to teach independence since birth but each year he gets more confident to do more things on his own. Thank you!
I feel the same about the Carolina Gold chips as you do. I was disappointed regarding the peach mango soap. Just smelled like soap to me, but the container is pretty ❤️
Extra virgin olive oil would definitely be for salads. In countries where olives are grown and olive oil made, we pick our olive oil by the acidity level. Extra virgin is always the best and reserved for salads. Color is also normally lighter. It is like picking wine. It is a science really. Olive oil is put on salads, potatoes, soups, bread, skin, drink a teaspoon if you need to go to the bathroom and can’t…
Katie, Thank-you for reviewing TJ's products!! My good friend works at the Kettering, Ohio store and I'm always saying " Katie says to buy this"! Ha! I can't shop at TJ's until I watch your videos. You've introduced me to many new products I would have overlooked. I'm not much of a shopper so I like to have my list ready! Love the wine by the way. Enjoying a glass now!! 🍷
Welcome back, Katie! We missed you but hope you had fun on vacation. Loved allllll the new stuff, so many! And yes, please try the beer! It’s always fun when you and Tim loosen up too 😂😉 Much love! Can’t wait for tmw! 🤗
The only new thing we had in the Bay Area was the jalapeño crunch which my husband can't eat. Dang. It might arrive later. Glad you had fun while away!
Gojuchang is an ingredient you use in various recipes. It is not a condiment. If you like tofu look for a recipe for Soon dubu jigae, it’s a Korean tofu stew and you use gojuchang in the recipe.
That was really exciting and New Hall of items! I did not know about the fusilli pasta in the bag, I used to get the individual meal and loved it and was sad when it was taken away. I may have to get a bag of that and get some tomato and onion and put it in there cuz that was some good pasta! Looking forward to the taste test! Big
Red Meritage wines historically have been among the world's most highly rated wines. They are prized for their smooth, silky texture and complex, robust structure. While they age beautifully - often for decades - most are also very drinkable in their younger years. A Red Meritage is a blend of two or more of the red "noble" Bordeaux varieties - Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot and the rarer St. Macaire, Gros Verdot and Carmenère. If the blend includes any other grape variety, it is, by definition, not a Meritage. Also, to qualify as a Meritage, no single grape variety can make up more than 90% of the blend.
This was an awesome haul!!!!!!!!!! I checked my T.J.'s in the I.E. and they were out of the Red Bell Pepper, Garlic and Parmesan Cream Cheese Spread. They just had the Garlic Spread and the rest of the shelves was different kinds of hummus. I checked with my manager to make sure. I can't wait for the taste test tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's going to be an exciting time with Benson going to kindergarten!
Hello Katie. You should try the gochujang on the beefless bulgogi over cauliflower rice or noodles with veggies. That would be amazing. Happy you had a great vacation. Have fun, stay safe and stay Blessed.
I went to T.J.'s today, but I was in a rush, so I didn't check the new section. I would have definitely bought those olives to try, so I'm very eager to see how you and Tim like them! Hope you enjoyed your vacation!
I can't believe Benson is starting kindergarten. I used to freeze the yogurt tubes and put them in the lunchbox and they'd be defrosted by snacktime and keep the other snacks cold. I finally got the goat cheese ravioli and they're fantastic. Easily my favorite now.
I Love your whole haul Katie ! Thank You for sharing your yummy finds 😋🥒 Your Surprise video from last week was so sweet ! I'm glad you said that I heard that there was a shortage on cream cheese 🤔
🥒Please! Love your curly hair. You look like a lovely mermaid! I'm so glad they are now selling gochujang in small containers. The asian store has only the large buckets that dry out with time. I was wondering if you've tried the blueberry biscuits yet in the freezer section?
OMGGGGGGG I 💜💜💜 Beef patties the crust looks official guess I’m headed there tomorrow. Costco has a 2 pack of dill pickle salad made by the company that makes the everything bagel salad you like. I ate both packs of the salad yesterday I will do a head to head taste test. You have me addicted to Trader Joe’s, they’ve been getting my usual Costco money
Welcome back!! The Cacio e pep is delicious, and so easy!! Sorry about the animal rennet, Katie. Hoping our Trader Joe’s has some of these other new items.
I have been waiting for the Carolina Gold chips to come back. I love your hauls and taste test. I watch every week. I love Trader joe's and your videos keep me updated with the new products.
I don’t know if it’s the same thing, but there is a less spicy version of that Korean paste. It’s like a miso and I dip cucumbers in it! Miso is really good for digestion!
I would think the Kalamata olive oil would be great! It's extra virgin, so you could definitely use it on salads and finishing. But I'm sure you could use it for cooking and everything else you use your regular olive oil for.
Would like to see you try the pineapple seltzer? Hope you had a great Vacay! I agree with you on hand soap. Would love to smell that new one. I’m not big on scents, fragrance is really bad for us. 🥒I think this is a cucumber, but it all I could find.
I really hope this doesn’t burst anyone’s bubble, but I learned recently that unless it’s marked as “vegetarian,” pretty much all parmesan and pecorino Romano (traditionally used in cacio e pepe) cheeses are made with rennet. I don’t know that it’s always on the ingredient list. There are a few other cheeses made with rennet; I know Gorgonzola and Gruyère are as well.
Before school starts pack him his lunchbox so he can practice with his lunchbox etc and give him 20 minutes to eat. My oldest would talk during lunch and not eat until he caught on and I wish I practice. Also it is worth it to get the easy open sandwich bags
Our store in Idaho has had cream cheese all along, but frequently runs out of the light brick cream cheese. Usually, it's the other way around. California stores get a lot of things that we don't get or we run out of things more 😋
That red pepper parm cream cheese is DELICIOUS, love it! 😋 Also soooooo glad to see the Carolina BBQ chips are back, those are my hands down favorite chip--I bought three bags yesterday, one is already empty. 🤭
I highly recommend using the cascatelli pasta in soup. My fiance and I added it to brothy soup we had made we liked it much more than when we had had it with sauce. 🥒 (closest I have to the pickle emoji)
The kalamata olives that you eat are usually cured & tend to be quite salty. The olive oil will not be like that. This will be good for almost anything you use olive oil for. Olive oils have different tastes depending on the variety of the olives & the region they grow in, much like wines. They can have a fruity or a zesty taste among many different flavor profiles. It would be fun to do a taste test of different olve oils on a simple French baguette if TJ's is going to carry more varieties of olive oil.
Tried the crunchy jalapeño lime and it was awesome and jalapeños are normally way too spicy for me. Love this South American cuisine inspired trend. This reminds me of chimichurri.
Welcome back! I hope you and your family had a wonderful vacation! I haven't found the bulgogi Hopefully, I'll see it on one of my trips. I love strawberry waffles. Yum! Must add it to my list. Please add the melon to the taste test.🍈
Lollipops are discontinued. As for the rice, ask when your store gets the shipment (morning or night). There is a one case limit per day so you may just not be there in time to get it. Ours comes at night so when I close I am able to get one.
We have had supply problems with whipped cream cheese and cream cheese in general at all stores in the Washington DC area too Katie! Thanks for the review...and welcome back to reality! :)
Also almost got the Caesar dressing but the shelf life was only like 1 week and I knew I couldn't eat it all in time. I'll definitely try it soon when we have friends over so it wouldn't be only me eating it lol
Daaang I almost bought the gnocchi the other day but I got the noodles instead. I haven't tried it yet, tho, I know my son will like it too so we're trying it together lol.
@@KatieHespe also if you use it on a bit bap- or something- mix some with a bit of soy sauce, rice vinegar and seseme oil so it's more of a liquid constancy to drizzle on top for flavour.. welcome home 😀
🥒🥒🥒🥒 What a huge haul with so many new products. I can’t believe that Benson is old enough to start school. I bet he’s excited. I’m so anxious to watch your taste test. 😊
The Only thing I don't like about your hauls is that you get soo many great looking (and tasting lol) products that we can never get up here (Eastern Washington) 😭😭😂 Mostly the beer/seltzer/alcohol suggestions lol.
Hi, curly girl. Welcome home. I made my granddaughter a snack basket with items from Trader Joe's for her 14th birthday. She loved it!!! Today is her birthday. Can you give her a shout out? Benson will love Kinder. 💘🥒 I bought the olive oil for the packaging. Ha ha.
I would have totally shouted her out but I didn’t see this until after we filmed the taste test. For what it’s worth, Happy 14th Birthday to you granddaughter! I hope she has the best day 🎉🥳
