Dear Edna Golandsky, I really need Your opinion. I've learned piano and play mostly Chopin Tchaikovsky. And 2 years ago I started to study Mozart deeper and I realized that my right hand 3rd finger felt heavy to move , unlike like the others do. And there's crack sensation too. Its almost impossible to do even the simplest c major scale with ease. When i try to making natural curved finger, the 3rd want to be flat. 3rd only. And it feels hard to mold the 3rd to be like the others. This is really frustrating . There must be something wrong in my finger physicaly. I was sure because the left hand was different. It can move with easily with no crack, it can execute c any passage naturally. Its really different. My orthopedic says I got trigger finger(stenosing tenosinovity) and suggest me to take surgery. Then I took surgery , but the result remained the same. Nothing is worse nor better. The crack feelings is still there. My question is, does trigger finger really do something with piano playing? Or its just my bad habit in hand posture so far?
@@douwemusic I did the google search. There's no nastiness here, just fluff. All I see are discussions on how to play, but without actual up to tempo playing. You would think that all this pedagogical know-how would translate into something more tangible. It's very strange to talk this much and not have anything more to show than slow demonstrations.
@@vincenttong1764 The only lie I've found in the approach is that you need a (certified) teacher and/or buy their DVDs to learn it. I've learned and improved my technique far more from teaching myself Taubman than from anything my conservatory teachers offered me (CvA, NL). If you're this skeptical about Taubman, just stay away from it. I've been on the verge of abandoning it out of disbelief and skepticism when it didn't work out for me in the 10 months I've been practicing it. It took a lot of time and trial and error before things clicked, but when it did, I didn't have a single regret. You're far more skeptical than I was though, so it'd probably be a waste of time.
