The parallels Eric Bogosian talks about are extremely fascinating. As a creative myself when something comes out of nowhere to hit the exact spot I'm at in my life, I remember once again how healing art can be.
Eric Bogosian and Luke Brandon Field are both extremely talented, the love they have for the character of Daniel just oozes out of their performances. ALSO WHAT IS YOUR LIFE?!!
As someone with an experienced journalist in the family, i just want to thank you. THIS is what an interview is meant to be like. You have some questions you can come back to, but in the end, it is a conversation. It is so natural, and we really get to know the actors a little better and learn about their work process and what goes on behind the scenes. I struggle to watch YT interviews because there's so much nonsense out there, but this... This is a high quality interview. Thank you for your work!!
Eric is so fascinating to me, I could like to him talking for hours. His words and experiences open a whole different world and I feel so honoured to hear it.
🚨 🚨 THIS IS NOT A TEST!!!!! I must have died at least a handful of times thanks to you and this show! Thank you for consistently feeding us entertaining and delicious interviews with these incredible humans.
If there is ever a point a biopic gets made on Eric Bogosians life I’d watch the film if Luke Brandon Field is cast cuz his mannerisms in episode 5 were spot on.
Amazing interview. Love love LOVED Eric's take on the 'just die' thing and the parallels and how it touched on something deep inside everyone in their low moments. The writing in this show is next level, but the actors really make it sing too. Love you both!
Thank you!! Can't wait to watch this. I so hope you get to interview Jacob and Sam (together and/or separately), and pretty much anyone else involved in the show lol. Rolin? Daniel Hart? I'll watch it all
I'm over here sweating crying heaving while watching this as if *I* were the one interviewing on these video calls. Love this for you (!!) and great insight as alwayssss
@@bunsworld96Oh believe me, I had to telepathically command all of the atoms in my body to stay put and not spontaneously combust in a million different directions
eric really does love to flirt with dipping into spoiler territory lmao, it's like he is so excited about the story that he just can't help himself, it is so charming and hilarious. you can see luke several times going 'OOP he probably shouldnt have said that!' but he cant say anything or he will shine a spotlight on it lmao.
Eric describes maybe having a scene where he goes back and watches his younger self, and he says "Maybe [time travel] is something vampires can do, too!" and I would love it if that means Daniel gets vamp'ed at some point!
This show is surprising and the actors are incredible, the entire casting is doing a beautiful job, I am delighted to be able to watch an episode every week.
Seeing these two just brought a huge smile to my face. I've been grinning like the cheshire cat throughout the entire interview. Autumn, watching your videos and watching IwtV are my top 2 highlights that I look forward to each week. ❤
late to this video but wow did i enjoy this. i just want to say that you are such an amazing interviewer! it’s so common to feel let down by boring, conventional interview questions, but you follow threads so well and listen and prepare so well for these that it’s just such a joy to watch. you being able to handle two dynamic personalities and craft such a great enjoyable video is impressive so just, thank you!!
38:30 Eric talking about Paris 😮 It would be so amazing to perhaps see young Daniel in Paris with Alice, all in love, and as time goes by and older Daniel remembering more and more, Alice slowly turns into Armand? And seeing older Daniel react to that, that Devils Minion happened?
so so so happy for you that u get to interview all these amazing people there‘s truly no one better equipped for the job !! i love ur content so much, feeling very parasocial in this chili‘s tonight
Autumn, please try bringing Eric back and read the hot tweets to him, I think he would love it. Twitter is going crazy because he is in the Dilf Archives🔥🔥. bites on everyone 🧛♀️🧛 kisses from Brazil🇧🇷
also: what the fuck, thank you for gracing us with these delightful interviews! you're doing some deity's work, to be sure. it's so good!!! i love it!!!
is it me or is Eric keep accidently spoiling the ending and confirming that Daniel will be turned into a vampire. i remember this interview was not the only time we kinda confirmed it - i mean on the season 1 interviews he said he was interested in the project as he never played a vampire :) i think the showrunners might give him the David treatment aka Daniel gets turned and transferred to a younger body - i mean they already have Raglan in the story, so...
@@tvaddict6623 I don't think it will happen this season, and that's reasonable with everything else they're tackling. I'm just concerned by the apparent "death" of DM in this season that one screener is claiming. I don't trust their attitude though.
I just keep thinking of Rolin’s comment at the 2022 comic con saying if the Armand/Daniel relationship is important to you to stay tuned for the future. Sure he could’ve just been referring to a new form of their relationship that we’re seeing now and simply seeing the two of them interact, but I’m choosing to believe he meant it in a Devil’s Minion sense too.
@@BriarPatchNyra I hope that’s not true but it doesn’t mean we won’t get DM flashbacks- filling in the blanks between 1970s and now. There could be more.
I love how casual these interviews are, and you never just ask expected questions. You're creative and you put them at ease. You are a gift to this fandom.
Eric really speaks his mind lol. Its great to see someone be so honest. Its refreshing. Really need young Daniel to make a few more appearances. Need me some Devil's Minion
The "Rest" scene is when I found Armand to be most cruel. Throughout the episode, he's doing psycho killer shit and it's scary, but it's mostly fun. But that feeling of hopelessness and defeat Armand conjures is so human and too familiar. It's giving all your darkest thoughts a corporeal form. It's an outside voice saying, "You're not crazy. The hopelessness you imagine is not only a possibility, it's inevitable. Why stick around for that?" That's terrifying. It's too confronting. It's too real. The fact that Daniel resists it for even a second is admirable
Very true. Other people are on about Armand beating Daniel up, but I was like, are you kidding? That’s the least of it! But it goes back to the whole Theatre des Vampires “no pain” method. (Someone asked if Armand had taught that to Santiago, which I can see. Santiago is really more of a gleefully gruesome killer.) I don’t see how that can be called being “loved” by Death, though. You know what being loved by Death would look like? Have you ever seen an episode of the Twilight Zone called “Nothing In The Dark”? Go and look it up and watch it if you haven’t. *That* is a merciful death. But then, it’s like when Louis talks about Gordon Parks’ photography and spending a week with his subjects. Who has that kind of time?
Double Daniel!! They're both sweethearts, I liked how this gave Eric a chance to finally spill the tea on the plot he nearly gave away during the initial press interviews 😅 Nothing would make me happier than more young Daniel in series 3 (with a certain someone 👀👀)
When I was prepping them ahead of the interview you could see the RELEIF on Eric’s face when I said “you can talk about anything that happens in episode five”
Eric Bogosian truly is a fascinating fascinating boy. Each of his stories were so interesting. Never been to New York or even America, but his personality is what I imagine a dyed in the wool New Yorker to be. He absolutely is Daniel Molloy for me! And my god Luke is so English!! This was another great interview Autumn . Thank you so much for this, you truly are the gift that keeps on giving ❤
If Eric's Wikipedia page is to be trusted, he went to college about twenty minutes from my house. He went to Oberlin, which is in the same county as my town and right next to my town. It's a liberal arts college in Lorain county Ohio. It seriously only takes me from between fifteen to twenty minutes to get there from my house.
We're all gathered here, matching each other freaks, so the truth must be revealed. We need not only the Devil's Minion with a Luke Brandon but also the downright hot Old Man Yaoi with Eric because he's super attractive, and it would be a shame not to capture a bunch of passionate moments with him and i oooop But I'm also enchanted by Luke Brandon's performance in this series, and I'm burning with impatience to see more of his Daniel. I keep casting my gaze on the 'Night Island' series, which was announced, but the radio silence regarding it has been deafening, emitting nothing but static. 😅
These interviews are amazing. I knew I loved Eric Bogosian before but the respect I feel for him and his life experience is on another level. The credit he gives to his co stars and the entire production is incredible. This is truly an ensemble cast and crew.
@@starlight8554 Thank you!! This doesn't seem too definitive to me, maybe he meant Armand or Louis showing Daniel his own past. I'm not sure. But thank you nonetheless! I really am hoping for older vamp Daniel, following an older Daniel Devil's Minion arc with Armand ❤️
Armand psychologically fucked with Daniels head , he read the dogshit outta him , which would make anyone vulnerable and emotional. He can read peoples minds of-course so he read daniels own fears and fed it back to him , then he offered to mercy kill ,in the analogy of him resting from his sorrow as his trusted confident . Pretty sick shit ..... I dunno why i watch this show before going to bed , not the best thing to have on your psyche
Eric jamming to Queens of the Stone Age is a pretty good choice for IwtV listening, honestly. The …Like Clockwork album even has a song called “The Vampyre of Time and Memory”.
in 24:50 when luke cracks up when eric says "i don't jam out that much" i lost it. eric is so funny, watching luke while he speaks just makes the experience better because i feel like i am mirrowing his expression the entire time. hard not to laugh at eric's stories and jokes, he's very charming
