Great tutorial. I made this bag and it looked great. Just a small correction......When you attach fabric A the first time to the zipper, you need to mention A. Instead you you have mentioned B. Pl check this. Thanks again!
I just made the purse from watching your tutorial. I cut out all my material then I would watch each step, pause the video, sew that section then restart the video. I did each step like that because I was so afraid I was going to sew the wrong parts together. I was so happy when I turned it right side out, pushed the lining in, and tada, I had a double zipper pouch! Thank you for the tutorial. It would have been even better with audio.
Hello, Please let me thank you for one of the most clear, precise and detailed video out there. You pouch is real pretty and sewn with great care. Thank you kindly for seriously thinking about the viewers and caring enough eventhough this must have been really time consuming. Bless you!
Hi are you the author of this book? If its so, why don't you make an English version about sewing? It would be a great help for us who can't read Japanese Kanji. I really want to learn sewing and i love your tutorials. Please keep on making video sewing tutorial. Thank you.
Hello, If you are reading this please let ke know if we can sew it using hand because I am making one using handstitch/glue. Thanks for The tutorial and replying my questions. Your faithfully, Elie(sry i cant spell my full name )
Yes, you can sew over a metal zipper, but you have to use the hand-wheel and NOT the foot peddle on the floor. Must keep turning the hand-wheel for each stitch, adjusting slightly with each stitch, to avoud hitting the metal parts. It can be done, but really takes a lot of patience. When passed the metal part of the zipper, go back to the foot-peddle. This is the way I was taught by my mother 50 years ago, and I still do this when needed. Needless to say, I love the nylon zippers, not nearly so much trouble to sew over!!
Love this tutorial!!! I've made 3 of these so far and have 5 more cut out. These are all Christmas gifts for family and friends. I know they will love this double-zip pouch as much as I do!! Thanks, Japanese Sewing Books!!! Great design AND tutorial!!!
Awesome video! Thank you very much for sharing your talents with us and for those who are complaining about the "no sound" - good grief - sing or turn on a radio. Really?
Hi, would you mind to tell me if my purse needs to be 9inch by 6 inch (the final length), then what will be the dimension of all fabric A,B, C? what is the proportions? especially the lining length. thank you very much for your reply.
This is such a fun bag! I notice that you sew over the zipper teeth but don't seem to have any trouble, how do you sew over the teeth and not break your needle? Thanks!
I love how meticulous you made and presented this bag. Your instructions are straightforward and easy to understand. I love the speed of your instructions. I hope you make many many more videos.
Great technique but how the heck she did not break a needle after sewing over that metal zipper I don't know. Also you must cut the excess and reinforce so it does not "unzip", another difficult feat with a metal zip 😮
thank you for making this tutorial. I just made up one using some denim scraps I had from altering pants to make shorts and it turned out great! The only change I made was to add another open pocket on the back of the pouch to hold a phone or glasses. Could send photos if you wanted to see how it turned out. Your instructions were so easy to follow and most enjoyable to watch.
The pin cushion you are using is really very cute..please upload a tutorial for making that or if you have already made one..please send the link for pin cushion tutorial...I guess it is crochet...?!
If you want to sew the same as shown in thumbnails watch first 30second and arrange all the materials as required and your sewing machine ready then resume the video follow all the steps one on one and you get the same as you want :)
loved this, but had to find a site to convert all the measurements instead of "getting to it". but i loved the video and you have excellent taste in fabric color and design.
How big is the purse bag when it is finished? Can I change the dimensions, how big would I have to cut Purse, if the dimensions should be 23 cm x 12 cm? Thanks for the answer and VG from Cologne sends Dani
You can make this any width and height. Make the width the same size as your zipper's tape (tape length not teeth length) if using a non separating zipper. Or use continuous zipper tape or a longer zipper and reinforce the ends and then trim. For size, it looks nice if the height is 2/3 of the length. So 15x10 or 9x6 look good, but it is up to you.
