Joe, I'm a 4.5 player and getting ready for a tournament this morning. I wanted to do some remedial strategy and happened to come across your video. This is a great primer for anyone starting out as well as a great review for intermediate players. Thanks. Your instruction is easy to understand, helpful in learning/reviewing strategy and technically "spot on." Keep them coming. You're a natural instructor.
This is absolutely the best video I've ever seen on RU-vid for playing strategies. I love the shorter ones also (Coach Mo, Deb Harrison, etc.) for individual shots, but your video defines the game for new players (and most importantly for recovering tennis players who come to pickleball). Most of the places where I play people think that PB is a deep game with everyone back--aka mini-tennis. This video clarifies the game and strategies that are needed to play well.
I purchased a video on PB, I've watched at least 25 other tipsters who were all really good teachers. However, this video is the finest work I've seen on explaining the game. THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU. The work you have put into this is incredible and very much appreciated by myself and so many others. I will definitely try to put ALL of it to good use. I'm so glad for what you have gifted us with. Sincerely, Jerry E
Just want to say thanks, Joe. I have been playing for sometime now. I have played paddle and tennis, and now into PB. Your videos were aha moments for me. No one lays out the initial shot strategy when you get instruction, they simply tell you to do a 3rd shot drop without saying why this is important, or explain how to get to the net successfully given the returning shot(s) so you and your partner can take control. Good stuff. All beginning players should watch your videos, as well as players who are stuck in the smash and run game.
Joe, I've watched your videos over and over, they are great. Very precise, clear and nicely shown to prove what you are saying and describing. Thank you, these are enjoyable and educational.
An excellent video. Use of the whiteboard mixed in with actual game play, helps to re-inforce the teaching point. Now it is just practice and playing to improve. Thank You for your effort.
What an awesome demonstration. What brilliant techniques to explain. I not only learnt the tips but thoroughly enjoyed the techniques used to explain. Thank You!
Thank you, I really needed to SEE the strategies because I'm a visual learner. I have played 7 years but I've plateaued. Your video is great and I have lots to work on and will review it often. Have you thought about doing a video dealing with strategies against lefties?
Whatever your skill level, do yourself a favor and watch this video every so often. I guarantee you will come away with game-improving concepts that you weren't ready for the last time you watched. I'm a strong 4.0 player and this is my fourth time watching. Thank you, Joe, for keeping me on track and reminding me how to *think* about the game.
I'm glad you like it. I'm excited to announce that my new book, "At the Line pickleball: The Winning Doubles pickleball Strategy" has been published and is available on Amazon.com. This book covers everything contained in all of my RU-vid videos plus much more.
