The ability to change the dimensions makes me think of making a "SkinnyBase", something that's like 20 tiles wide and stupid tall.

Your bridge on the new oil source is crossing into your cooled base. Be careful on that thermal transfer agent.

Fun Fact: Visco-gel can go infinitely high, it seems. Just need to keep moving the emptier up.

Best thing about mini base is the fact that it is a small map. Slower older computers can manage it a lot better than a full map. Good video.

Opening out the side of the base is a medium ground option in my opinion, since you get more space but not more materials. Oni has tons of exploits anyway that some people use and some people don’t, there’s no wrong way to play a single player game. On the scalding - that might also explain why my dupes kept briefly getting chilly surroundings when going into my cold room. They put on their suits right before entering. Luckily briefly being cold isn’t a big deal (and there isn’t a jarring alert either).

By the way you can create now extra space by replacing your old liquid locks with the vis gel locks. For example you can put visgel next to your right radar and gain a Huge amount of space thanks to that. It's 2 tiles high and at a place where you can't place anything anyways.

13:18 you can save space in the oil room by putting the liquid pump ABOVE the battery. You then may have enough space for a petrol refinery in there.

Put a tile into top left empty space in the slickster incubator section. Currently this is where most of the intermittent drowning happens, which disturbs their consumption of CO2.

The minibase is turning out to be more and more packed. I wonder where you will find space for the next few projects 🤔

Fun fact: In spaced out you can destroy the neutronium in a way. But it is very hard and takes a lot of time, so if you manage to do it the space you would have acquired will be def. deserved

petroleum boiler --> generators is already water positive, so I don't think not having enough geisers/vents is a big issue in spaced out. Aside from the fact that you have several tens of thousands of tons of water on the water asteroid. If you run out of that, I'd love to know how.

I've had visco gel maybe 25 tiles high. I'd love to say it was a scientific experiment, but in reality I just made a mess of it.

Oh yeah visco-gel could go really high in fact you can keep putting it in a 2 tall space eventually it will start pressure breaking the top block that it is touching lol

Some day I need to make a proper industrial brick, I haven't started a new run of ONI in so long, but I've never tried one of the hot/dirty/cold industrial bricks for managing the local temperature of the industry.

Not sure if you are using it but oniassistant rocket calculator lets you optimise the fuel and oxidizer ammount you need. You can see if you actually need 2 fuel tanks for the 30k ring and would save you resources.

Seeing as how you have viscogel flowing now, you should consider reworking your liquid locks. Quite a bit of space savings to be had all around that way

14:00 stares at my spaced out map with 3 cool steam vents, water geyser, salt water geyser, and more naturally spawning polluted water than I can ever use...welp I think my map may be hogging all the water lol 😅 Edit: also the 4 or 5 ice biomes that spawned 😂

you should bridge the po2 instead of the connection between your hot zone and the base for that oil run

I am a new guy and have a question: Why cant you just put some Things in a vacuum, to prevent heat from happening in the first place? That way, you wouldnt need huge cooling facilities

Day 1001 of saying you need to redo your whole base for space efficiency! You have a lot of room that you can repurpose. Like the PIP form for 1. And you can save a lot of space where that double liquid lock is if you go to visco-gel.. also you should totally pipe the rocket output through a cooling chamber before you break it into your base like you're doing with the regalith. And now with the rocket you could get more minerals so you can make all insulated pipes if you want to.... Also I say if you want to go into cheap mode and remove the side of the map so that way you can use that area.. just open it up where the new mod allows you to

More batteries means more power leakage. Automation cost no power and when setup correct will allow you to use less power.
