I still don't get Doug's thoughts on Kick Ass, the movie is supposed to partially be a black comedy. I get that it goes a little far with the drama but it built tension and gave motivation for the characters. I love the first movie, it's the second that takes it too far and becomes cartoony.
John Hamm it does have some cruel scenes like the chair scene or the Cody scene but it was a dark comedy after all I remember seeing the trailers when I was 14 I tought it would be pg-13 just a comedy teen film since the actors were young but when I saw it for the first time I was blown away I loved it ever since because It took me by surprise it’s more of an action movie with a bit of dark humor and not a Seth Rogen type of comedy it’s more of a kill bill type of style a satire of superhero’s I hated the sequel tho
i mostly understood he liked it but it didn't work as the comedy it was supposed to be, cause thats how it was promoted? in my opinion i totally loved kick ass back then😅
It is pretty bad. I haven't even seen the anime yet at all, and that movie I could tell didn't do the fans justice at all didnt it. It basically was like how bad DRAGONBALL: EVOLUTION could get. It just didn't seem to respect its fans whatsoever.
A film from that year that can b bad is the ANOES remake, but to me, that was one's more s dishonourable mention IMO because it's not the absolute worst I've ever seen. It's just a bore n a chore to get through. It's pretty much the only FREDDY KRUGER film I dont like but I definitely dont hate it. It's forgettable n really bland. The victims/teens in that one have like no memorable personalities to them. Say what you will aboot Freddy's Dead or Dream Child or so but at least it had distinct victims. You would at least remember who n they were and what they did. As for JEH, not a bad choice at all for a new Freddy. But like many hav said, wasnt given much to work with. Plus, dont get me started on how terrible the cgi is in that remake compared to the fantastic practical effects of the past franchise. Now anyways.
I'm surprised you didn't mention Alpha and Omega, the animated movie about the wolves from 2010. I still think it's an extremely underrated and misunderstood movie.
