Just heard the song on the radio and had to come here to give it more listen, Doug stone is one of the reasons I fell in love with country music growing up. His voice is pure gold.

I just auditioned last night and was accepted to sing in a local country music show on a regular basis. I am 54 years old and have loved his music since the 80’s. I am considering singing this song as one of the four in my first set.
This has always been a favorite of mine, I use to listen to it when I was in iraq and I remember really feeling the lyrics. This was the first time I ever watched the video and saw the soldier coming home... I have recently met the love of my life and I truly never knew love until the moment I looked into her eyes and I could see forever unfold.
The 90s was the best time for country music, imho. I really got into it, at that time, more so than any previous decade. I loved the heart and the soul that singers at that time put into their songs; and Doug Stone showed it in this great moving song.🙂
I heard this song as a younger woman, but hearing it now after learning a deeper love in my life, I have a developed a deeper appreciation . Thank you Doug Stone for singing a tender hearted song.

You know you are listening to good music when you can listen to the same song over and over again, and STILL after the last time, it makes you feel as you did the first AND YOU ACTUALLY KEEP WANTING TO HIT REPLAY!! THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT MUSIC WAS BACK THEN!! Its a damn shame.......
Doug stone was one of my all time favorites.....I miss the 90's country so much! .....this one is dedicated to the love of my life Sherry Lynn V. ......she just didnt feel the same about me.
2022 now and I still absolutely love this song Doug stone has on of the most amazing voices and you really hear it on this song compared to some of his other upbeat songs!!! 100% underrated and one of the best in the era of real country not this new “country “
I grew up listening to the music of doug stone and Dan Seals. Im 41 now and 😢 how could I grow up with the words? But never find the man to match?? At least the wrong ones can't take music away😢❤

I haven't listened to this song in 20+ probably but, it takes me right back to a specific place and time that involves my mom. She has been gone 10 years this year but, she was right here beside while listening to this. Love you mom.
Seems like just yesterday, I was watching tv....seeing this video for the first time.....and it hit my heart so deeply......nobody was into Doug Stone.....but I sure was....it was so sad to hear he passed on....I truly LOVED his music....to me he will always be a legend....R.I.P. Doug...God bless

Great country singer deserves more credit. I saw him in concert in Portland Oregon at the Rose garden 1994 with Patty loveless a great concert he has country voice isn't around today he's up there with the great ones George Jones George strait Sammy Kershaw Waylon Jennings Merle Haggard Alan Jackson Buck Owens Marty Robbins today only to name a few.
I had the worst infatuation with Patti Loveless for years. I really liked her music but man she was just freaking stunning to look at. I don't know if I could handle seeing her in concert but that sounds like a great show
