Dougdoug editors are twitch chats beloved side character, they manage to make that background character Doug seem like a charming and creative streamer
It's the slow ramp up that makes it so good. If somebody came along and told Doug to make the stream unwatchable with a list of stupid stuff to do it wouldn't be funny. It's the fact that one person asks for a kinda of silly thing and Doug rolls with it, and chat rolls with that, and Doug rolls with that, repeat ad nauseum. That way there's a bizarre logical throughline which never fails to make me laugh.
DougDoug getting a stupid suggestion from chat and just going full send on it is one of my favorite parts of his content, next to how much effort he puts into making it and incorporating his community
I also love how Doug Doug Just goes with it like I remember one clip a twitch chatter asked Doug to set a timer because he put a pizza in the oven and Doug Doug without any hesitation set a timer for him
@@NoNameAtAll2someone in chat says "why is it purple?" and when Doug reads it, the message is zoomed in as if to highlight it on screen except it's just a blurry mess
i can't believe that after all these years, DougDoug finally figured out that OBS has settings and stuff and not just the start/stop streaming/recording buttons
So what you're telling me is that he made all the stream decorations, chat integrations, audio and chromakeying the camera without opening the settings
That 50Kbps moment is a perfect example of how keyframing works. You can see it load a new keyframe every few seconds and discard all of the progress it had made on the static elements.
Yes. Many video compression algorithms work by placing keyframes (full images, I-frames) and then displaying deltas (P-frames) relative to that keyframe. There are a bunch of nuances to this like the keyframe interval, the codec used, and stuff like B-frames (bi-directional P-frames), but this is the core concept.
He does that so that next stream they get new ideas that they beat until it is dead. He doesn’t like reoccurring jokes, which is understandable considering how long some ‘jokes’ like divorce have gone for.
I couldn't bear to watch any more of the Only Up streams, so I missed this glorious moment, and I am absolutely losing it laughing. Thank you for gracing us with this great clip.
This is actually the perfect example how chat has a completely weird idea and Doug be willing enough to making it happen. I just love the complete clusterfuck that happens sometimes, it's fun, it's hilarious, it's stupid but in a good way.
Dougdoug is the only streamer that intentionally fucks up his own stream and yet never suffers from technical issues that he has not himself intentionally created.
Doug is like a classic genie, the kind that do grant wishes, but not exactly in the way that you wanted, and after its been given out, possibly even less so
This is my first time seeing anything DougDoug and this absolutely seems like something Jerma would do (after saying he won’t for 7 minutes) and I’m loving the chaos so much
This is a true depiction of the duality of man. Other streamers try and make their streams as smooth and as sharp as possible and then there's this man. 😂
I feel like the original “last vod” and “: seconds ago” as mini screens in the corners (without it glitching out and becoming a huge mess) is funny in of itself and something I want to see more of
DougDoug is like that fun teacher that encourages students to learn by listening to their ideas and humouring their wacky suggestions so they can learn themselves how things are affected.
My favorite part of this is watching chat suffer on the side of the screen as the resolution gets lower and lower lmao just cries of AAAAAH and HELP over and over
Okay, but I love the idea of a stream that's entirely delayed by 3 seconds except for the screen in the corner that says "3 seconds in the future" and is in real time
2:18 That is basically the max quality I could watch twitch on at home 8 years ago, when someone else was also using the WiFi. Back then I even got used to playing with constant 300ms ping. (It's not as bad as you would think, as long as there are no large fluctuations)
