I gave up making these. I have a soft dough but I cannot get the chapati to puff up or make soft chapati. I wonder if I've to use an Indian whole wheat flour or stick with King Arthur 100% Whole Wheat.

King Arthur whole wheat is really bad quality compared to most Indian sourced flours.. made the switch myself years ago, much more aromatic (the indian flour is like naturally perfumed), much more soft and acts very similar to American AP flour in terms of quality and fineness

Measures are incorrect when I tried they were runny. Had to add 3/4 cup more flour to get the consistency:

There are lots of verities brands. I like 100% whole-wheat.

Will it not work without oil? We don't use salt and oil in our dough.

Do I need to look for any Kitchen aid specifications ? As I get to see many colors in it . Just wondering does all have same specifications? Thanks in advance.

Hi , I’m seriously looking for Dough maker for roti your suggestions are highly appreciated. - Is there any better tool do you suggest best for Dough maker currently? - if ans is no for the above , could you please suggest what configuration and attachments I need to look for in kitchen aid as there are multiple option when I search please. I highly appreciate your suggestions as I’m completely clueless. Thanks for your time .

I have the classic model which comes with 3 attachments are Doug, cookie and cream There are many attachments like pasta maker, meat grinder, vegetable cutter for separate price

@@yummyrecipes3855 Thanks a ton for quick response. I did get a chance to research about this . I am thinking of artisan 5 qt with basic 3 attachments. Is there any specific difference between classic and artisan ? Which one do you recommend? I appreciate your time.

I have basic. Don’t know much about artisan other than the bowl is little different
