This is the first year you did St.Nicks days

First time I've seen you celebrate St Nicks!

I was confused I thought you said in other vlog you started celebrating st. Nick day 5 years ago.. so I was thinking Alex must be really young🤷🏻‍♀️ but sounds fun

The babydoll pjs are so cute ❤ we do the boots on the fireplace also! We leave our old boots we outgrew and st.nick brings us new winter boots, hats, gloves, scarfs, and of course some Sinterklaas Cookies, coins, and candy canes. I’m 40 and my parents always did it with us and it’s continued each generation ❤ it’s actually a really good story and fun for the kids.

I had no idea you knew Sint Nick in the US. ❤actually, it is saint Nicolas on the 6th of December. It is celebrated in Belgium, the Netherlands, part of Germany and East of France. The children receive their toys on that day. Few days before the 6th, children leave their shoes for sint nicolas to bring them 1 chocolate or 1 special cookie (called a spéculos that is only baked at this time of the year). The night of the 5 th, children would set up a small plate with cookies, a beer and a carrot (for saint Nicolas’s donkey) and on the 6th if the children have well behaved they receive toys. Yep, it happens there is no toy for some children and saint Nicolas just leave a letter where he explains why you didn’t get anything (That’s super traumatizing when it happens to you!😁). We celebrate also Christmas but it is more a Christian day and exchange small gifts under the tree (books, gloves, jumpers,...). Usually, it is more a day where you cook and you have extended family dinner on the 24th at night (and go to the church or listen to the midnight celebration of the pope on tv) and the 25th at lunch, you have another big family dinner.

I love that you remembered that the 3 doggos needed pjs and of course, the dolls need matching pjs too. You will have the best Christmas photos ever. Cheers!

We do the matching pajamas as well. Different ones every year. You really need to wash the pajamas before they are worn; they are spared with a chemical so when shipped to wherever they are going, they won’t get moldy.

This is so neat. I knew there was a story of St. Nick. But I didn't know about the boots and St. Nick's day. So cool.

So St. Nicholas day is over night between 5th and 6th December, so when you wake up on the 6th your boots a filled with treats. :) and then the whole day is celebrated 😊

I celebrate Saint Nicholas day. Because I am Catholic and how Saint Nicholas does for me is putting things in my stocking full treats.

I live in Germany and st.nicks day here is called: Nikolaus. Every kid I know did this and still does. it's a huge tradition here. even the grocery stores give out candy on December 6th for the kids. But here you have to clean your boot the night before and put it out on the front door. it was always very fun :D

I didn’t like the way Harley was in everybody’s face and begging for everybody else’s stuff and grabbing and touching that bothered me. It was a cute idea with all the presents and the pajamas were all cute.

Bringing new traditions to your family is always worth it and your children will remember and pass them on. Mine did so keep on "spoiling" them. They will in turn work hard as you and Josh do for their children.

Adorable pajamas. I hope you and your husband are included in the pajamas. Do you use the boots that the kids put on the hearth or are they just taken out at Christmas? Wonderful tradition and I never heard of it. Adored the hot chocolate bar. In another video you showed how you laid out all of the goodies. I originally thought you were going to be baking. This idea is much more interesting and tasty and memorable.

Hey not sure if u know but the tradition alot of kids actually leave out carrots,apples etc (things a horse can eat) for St. Nick's horse and then he leaves them treats.... Basically like leaving cookies & milk for Santa just in case u wanted to let atleast the elementary kids do that next year

St. Nicholas was a bishop who give out treats for children yes in boots or shoes, but my Ukraine mother would put something under our pillows. Alot of eastern European countries celebrate as Christmas and Christmas is for Jesus January 6 is when the 3 king came. That is when the kids get present. In my home that was the day we take the Christmas tree down.

We lived in Germany for 6 years. Only we left our boots outside. And in our village the older folks called him Nikolai. In Germany he gave chocolate gold coins if you were good. And sticks if you were bad. Then the grim reaper would walk down our road looking for the bad kids. He traumatized kids for sure.

My son has ADHD with Autism traits , Mild Cerebral Palsy , Sensory disorder . He was a hand full as a child no noises, no opening presents while we watched... Nothing in his room etc .. When he lost his first tooth i said the tooth fairy will come and leave you money under your pillow ... He said that's ok you can just keep it cause i don't want him in my room 😂. The same with Santa he didn't like the idea of Santa watching if he was good or bad or sneaking into the house while we slept 😂😂😂 when you said hopefully he isn't related to the tooth fairy , it brought it all back 😊 . He's 21 and still a handful at times.

That's sweet we do reindeer food on xmas eve. My kids are grown now, got 2 newborn grands now so this year is for them.
