Great video 😊 my mums side of family were from Douglas Water,she was a Dunn..Her mum was a Fraser & her grandfather played for celtic however started off at Douglas Water Jumior Thistle Club away back in 1920s I believe (originally from Leadhills) and my great great granny was a Jamison who lived in Leadbutters Cottage I think that’s how you spell it. I love hearing all the story’s from this once thriving community.
It was the glen. I lived in Welsh st Yes it is, I had 21st birthday in the lodge,my dad was a member. There was a garage called Peter Mccabe, my dad worked there. The pub was 6the Struan. I went to the school. My family are McBroom Thomson and Ramage, the Ramage was more Douglas. I'm 53 this year and remember it well.
