This is crazy, I first saw one of these as a block in a minecraft mod and had no idea where it was supposed to go. Never thought I'd get an answer but here we are. wild
An outstanding exercise in classical parametric architecture and structural analysis. The Dougong Song style is among one of the best ways to work with wood structures. Knowledge of the past doesn't imply irrelevancy. The style itself can be generalized and be applied to contemporary architecture.
This has nothing to do with parametric design. What's the algorithmic parameters they're using which enables them to change the design on a whim? I think you've misunderstood what parametric design means/are. This entire style is very beautiful but it's not very practical/realistic in this day and age. I wouldn't call it a good design because every single part of the building is ridiculously over designed. The "over-designness" does however give it its unique looks which I quite enjoy from an architectural standpoint but from a structural standpoint the design is an eyesore.
i wanted to see this put together, but the camera kept zooming out. i don't need to see the guy and the room he is in, i need to see the pieces being put together.
