Can someone explain the way he plays the bar chords? His index finger only covers one string?!

The same way John Mayer and Jimi Hendrix play their chords. The cover the bass notes with their thumb.

Well as an american and a song writer myself i feel he captures a western /country sound and does a great job at it.. relaly like his style and song writing skills...
