Very thorough. Thanks for the battery information. The fact that it can work just plugged in to a [standard] USB-C cable alleviates most of my concerns about proprietary or non-replaceable batteries. You could always use it with a power bank, which would be almost as portable as the built-in battery.

Yeah I didn’t think about trying a power bank… good suggestion 👍

Hi, Thanks for reviewing our Dovoh P4-360G. Amazing video! 👍Dovoh is a leading manufacturer of self-leveling laser levels with more than ten years of experience. We provide a 2-year Quality Warranty and a 5-year Accuracy Warranty for our laser levels. We noticed your confusion about K4-360G VS P4-360G. P4-360G is an upgraded model to K4-360G. P4 uses the updated core assembly, wrapped with dual cushioning rubber, increasing the resistance to impact to keep a more stable accuracy and durability (H3-360G also has this Dual Amortization design). P4 uses the 90mw diode, which is brighter than K4(30mw). P4 is also rechargeable. You can charge it directly or charge the batteries, while K4 can only charge batteries. P4 uses a heavy-duty design, will be more durable, and the accessories are better than K4. That's why there is a price difference. Regarding the pulse mode, our laser level is suitable for a 10KHZ receiver. Our receiver, DR1, is under testing and will launch soon. We hope you enjoy using our laser level and continue to choose us for your future needs.

Since all Dovoh do seem to do is laser levels, then as long as they stay in business, you would presume that support for spares will be okay. It does look to have some good functionality and accessories. Great that you can select the mains adapter to suit your country as well. Definitely a good option for those that do use a laser level all the time and don't want to shell out for a big brand.

Yeah for the price (even though it’s a little higher than some others) It has nice features, is bright, accurate, and the accessories, though not the most robust feeling at least are useful. On most of the other lasers I’ve received, the accessories were pretty lack luster.

I went on a laser kick a while back the 2 I use are the 170ish dovoh 4 plane and 170ish firecore 4plane. The firecore I would say feels more stout f95t-4g and works with my old kaiweets receiver. Thoes batteries are common 18650 batteries from what I've seen so wouldn't be hard to fix at all. I bought a super generic straight from China fancyall 3 plane for $20 and surprise it's serviceable! The accessories were painfully similar to the ones you got n your case so it's a win win ( I basically use it for the accessories). Plus at $20 I leave it on the jobsite and no one bothers it. Like you I use a task support pole with a smallrig clamp and it gets the job done. I really like the 4th plane for leveling floors which we have done alot lately. All I have to do is throw a slab of plywood on the ground as thick as the laser off the floor. If the green beam passes the plywood we win! 🏆. The dovoh is fine (the cheaper one) it never hurts to have a few so you don't have to move them around so much. It's good to see the expensive one wasn't nessary for me for peicd of mind.

Yeah that’s what I told Stefan.. if I had lasers and accessories already, I would go with the cheaper version just to have a 4 plane when you need one. If you have absolutely nothing yet.. this one’s not bad for what you get with it.

Great review a lot of lazors can do the ceiling grids. But that forth plane is a real nice feature. For floor leveling i don't think it can be beat . And that little scissor lift is cool to. Thanks Morgan definitely one to consider.

Yeah, you can figure out ways to get to the level you want with a tape measure, etc.. but there have been some shower pans I’ve put in that this laser would have been great. The accessories kinda shocked me on this one. Again, they don’t feel the most robust, but they are useful.

A few more functions in laser levels and they'll just end up making a lantern with a green bulb inside it. Entire room will be lit green. Infinite lazors.

Solid review it’s nice to see an opinion of someone that is honest on a less well known brand. I often skip over those in my mind as we think of main brand to be more reliable. But those main brand some times make bad tools them selfs. Use a DeWALT laser myself and it runs on normal AA batteries so that’s just handy and easy to get. It’s a two plane type and that enuf for what I do. One thing I’m been looking at is a laser mounting pole. The type you lever between ceiling and floor I run pvc conduit for many things I do and some times at higher lvl on walls ( out of reach of patients ) and that ends up being not easy to use my laser on. Don’t always have a way to mount it to metal or drill in a screw for a mounting plate on a finished wall Bosch has a few options and there are a few China options but RU-vid does not have many decent reviews on these Never seen you use one and have one in the background so not holding out hope on you doing one lol Just one of those things one thinks about for a long time before making a decision

I had the Bosch Pole and it ended up breaking on me in a few months. What I use now is a fast cap 3rd hand. You can pin them between floor and ceiling like the pole. They sale a laser mount, but I doubt care for it, I use a clamp type mount and it works great along with my magnetic mount. (I’d have to send a picture.. too hard to explain that) I also bought the tripod base for it and use it most of the time so I don’t have to worry about marking up drywall ceilings. The thing I like about those are they are actually made to help hold up things like cabinets, make plastic walls out of them for dust control (what we call zip walls here) So they are multi-purpose. Not made necessarily even for laser, but works good for it. You can see me using them for my laser and for cabinet install in this video One Man Upper Cabinet Install - Fast Cap 3rd Hand and a Few other tricks! #watchmework #cabinet ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--DwVXYRYu5k.html

@@MORGANSMaintenance just watched it. Yea that’s what I need in a nutshell. Sadly not a brand they sell here. Again so many handy stuff sold in USA that don’t make it over here. Then again I did a 5 min google I’m sure some one sells a clone of this here it’s a no brainer that some one must. Also good reminder that I should make a point of going though your back catalog a bit more. Had not seen this video before. I’ve was looking at it and think why did I not have this when I was doing ( fill in bunch of things in a 25 year period) Just goes to show there is so much out there that you just need to learn about. They say social media is the curse of modern times but it really has its good sides

@@MORGANSMaintenance I just had to find the right search terms and bingo. Bunch of options from Bessey to tons of other brands and at a great price point. Then just need a universal laser mount that will work with what ever diameter pole I’ll get. And yea I’m also on Instagram been there for years and years almost from the start. Back when it was a platform for photographers sharing their work. As photography is my hobby. There are still a lot of great photos to be found by many great artists but you have to know how to find them amongst the ……. ( I’ll censor myself ) Also a bunch of tool accounts that do give me ideas from time to time. But I totally understand people that don’t want anything to do with it. It ( and now I’ll sound my age ) used to so much better when it began. So much beautiful work to found then and really great community. People doing meet-ups I organised some of those here where I live and it’s kinda epic roaming the streets or a building or location with 20 to 200 photographers at the same time. Mis those days sometimes. Before duckface / plates of food / bots / scammers / OF promoters

@@robholland5925 I’m not sure if my links work for you.. but I use this amzn.to/4b1fOuv with my magnetic Bosch mount. It secures the laser with a clamp and a magnet (not falling off)… but I also get the micro adjust. The laser mount for the Fast Cap poles you have to manually get it exactly where you want it and clamped. Sometimes that’s hard to do.

Excellent review. So we're waiting for 4-plane Bosch. It's another fairly good entry level tool. When you opened and closed the battery slot, it can be clearly heard it's not the 24/7 pro-tool.
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance 2 месяца назад
I am wondering why they haven’t hit the 4 plane market yet. It is a super nice feature. You can get by without it, but it’s definitely nicer having it. I would likely buy the cheaper if I already had a laser/accessories/etc.. and use it with those. But if you need it all, not a bad laser for what your getting.

@@MORGANSMaintenance If you turned the Bosch upside-down (possibly sitting on a simple frame of some kind for stability), wouldn't you then get a super-low horizontal laser. or do you need both at the same time?

@@OnusBones typically you need one. I’m not sure if the pendulum works right upside down or not, I’d have to try it and see. I might check that out

Sadly I can buy 3 or more of these decent quality brands (firecore dovoh ect...) for the price if bosch when they take there sweet time to get one out. Like in another of my comments I have a few so I don't have to move the lasers much really saves time and setup layout in one swoop.

@@MattHmm-rq6dn For my personal professional use I had 2 lasers since 2004. The first one was DYI Bosch (green shell). It broke after couple of months, because I simply used it beyond its intended purpose; DYI laser is not suitable for a jobsite. Then I bought red-line 3-plane; it still works. When I employed people, I always bought them Bosch lasers; zero issues, very rugged and precise. I wish I could say the same about other Bosch tools, BTW. Even though I see all those brands, I will still consider Bosch lasers as the only viable option.

That was good to see a demo of the differences and how the accessories work. Is pulse mode necessary for a line detector to work? Are there different pulse frequencies ranges that make one work better than another? Maybe that is why the Bosch doesn't always pick up the Dovoh.
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance 2 месяца назад
Typically it’s the pulse that causes them to read. My other Dovoh worked with that Line Reader, but I have had other lasers that don’t. It may be different ranges 🤷‍♂️
