This one was nuts. Lately I've been practicing over slower tracks to get comfortable with stuff like Dorian and Aeolian but now that I'm comfortable with Dorian I just cut loose and flew through this one from fret 2 to 22 with that up tempo minor groove
Using the flat 5 and major 7 in the Dorian as their own melodic notes and not just passing notes makes that mode sound wonderfully exotic when used with succinct phrasing. And I mean succinct. Less words with more meaning.
@@graxjpg Ok, thanks! I add b5 to Dorian all the time and love it, but I just cannot make that major 7 (Bb) note sound good to me against this track. It is driving me nuts! I'm going to keep at it till it makes sense to me! Thanks man.
@@tubejam3156 picking one 7th or the other for a specific phrase is important, you can use either in subsequent phrases but not the same one unless one 7th is used as a passing tone or something like that. So it may sound out of place unless you can let the harmony of the melodic phrase juxtapose the harmony of the backing riff in a way that makes your phrasing more compelling
Just awesome, man. I love your backing tracks so much. I especially love the applause at the end of the track. I'm going to add this to all of my backing tracks, as I love to bow and wave to all of my fans (my two cats) in the living room at the end of each performance 🤣
Saint Shredalot, you need to add a warning to the beginning and the comments section........ something to the effect of "WARNING; HIGHLY FLAMMABLE. Alert your local firefighters BEFORE engaging "PLAY" mode", This is one of the greatest backing tracks on the planet....... thank you man!!!!!!!
This stuff is fantastic and I'm happy to support it. If there are other ways I can help (artistically, suggestions, whatever) dm me...thank you so much for this.
Killer groove!!! I jam on so many of your minor tracks. Can you produce more major tracks that would be awesome!!! Now You Shred the best backing tracks on the net! Thanks for all you do and your short video tips are great too.... Cheers from Cambodia
I also agree that even though my minor shred game is decent, some major tracks would help me get out of my comfort zone only thing is I feel that major focused backing tracks tend to sound cheesy more easily but that's why I love Renzo's tracks cause they have actual VIBE so I have faith he can whip up something good! ❣️👌👍🔥
Yeah guys, the problem is people always ask for major modes, and when I put them up the numbers are so low it hurts the channel rating. It’s an unfortunate part of the RU-vid algorithmic treadmill that forces creators to appease the lowest common denominator! I’ll make a new major jam playlist and post A link on the community page at Now You Shred.
Yeah I second that. I've been working on my improv the last few years and I feel I'm so much further along working with minor modes because there's relatively so few good major mode jam tracks.
Had a lot of fun here. Try playing in the style of a different guitarist after every turnaround! You can mix it up by combining different guitar players styles too - I just did eddie hazel -> beck -> clapton -> gilmour, then started to blend them all to create some awesome motifs!
Sweet Jebus that was fun. That D back to Bm7 was funky as, and easy to jam to. I could have just played those to chords, little bar on 9 fret back to one on the 7th then fill in the rest with chuka ta chucka ta chucka ta's.
Again, Excellent as always Sir. This reminds me a bit of a Little Feat type groove, any chance of having a "Sneaking Sally Through The Alley' type track? The combination of part Meters, part Little Feat on the original track is amazing. Have a Great Week!
