Testing another pawn shop find - Winchester 357 Magnum 145 grain JHP Silvertips. Testing with the 3" Taurus model 605 and 6" model 66 for velocity, penetration and expansion. Did I get a deal at the pawn shop or not?
Authorized load for FBI in 3" M13 and carried by Seals...it's one of 3 loads I tested in my first upcoming Heavy Winter Clothing Meat & Bone .357 3" tests coming up
This was a fun test to watch. I shot some of these years ago, before I had a chronograph. The only thing I remember about them is they kicked harder than the other factory loads I tried. Maybe they actually were loaded hotter.
The new boxes shows 1290 fps and if memory serves me right the old ones were the same. Dont remember what barrel length but i think it was from a S&W 66-7 with a 4 inch barell.
These are some stout rounds for a .357 Magnum. I have the same gun 💯. The Toro 3" barrel. The more I see the defender model. I like it more than mine. Sometimes, trying to be be the first with anything that stands out. Isn't the best way 🤦🏿
