"Down in the Valley," the new documentary series inspired by the TV series "P-Valley" sees Nicco Annan, who plays Uncle Clifford in the hit show, explore the South and its culture. From strip clubs, queer rap, and Black cowboys, we see the real South that influenced the tv series.
I talked to host and executive producer Nicco Annan and showrunner and executive producer Shoshana Guy, about how Nicco's hometown of Detroit is similar to the South, how they got people to open up, spending time with rapper Marley Santana in person, and how this experience influenced Nicco filming "P-Valley."
