step tb it's amazing what can happen in just 2 years, the live version from 2011 is about a complete 180. If he could sound like this again and he and Vinnie could come together for just one limited tour I would give my left nut to be there. A guy can dream, right? Guess the live videos from their prime will have to suffice.
@@Mopettaja hes been off hard drugs for 15 fucking years. My god, people have NO CLUE what theyre talking about. Now he doesnt even drink. Christ. He'll be 30 years clean someday and people will still run with these MYTHS.
I'm not saying you're wrong and I'm right but I'm just want to share my favorite Stone to Crow was September 21st 1995 at deep ellum live in Dallas Texas ,-check the 31:50 mark - "Forever the brotherhood"
Rex had known how to play fingerstyle since he was a kid, mate. He used to be a jazz player for local bands and got into jazz playing before he developed a more guitar-like style during his tenure with Pantera. He picked for Pantera because it's what suited the band's sound, not because he couldn't play with his fingers.
Massive Pantera fan but up until a few days ago had never heard this song by Down. The intro immediately hooked me so I went straight next door, plugged my les paul in and tuned it down to play this. That's music's power
No matter how I try, no matter what I say, I'm blamed I'm shamed I'm judged unfairly. So damn true...no chance to be performed with more emotion in it!!!!
wow their gear is so amazing.. nothing fancy, just real heavy distorted guitars combined with badass bass and an awesome snare that can tear your eardrums
He was suffering from acute pancreatitis (a sudden inflammation of the pancreas which can have severe complications and high mortality despite treatment), Rex began experiencing pain and discomfort in his abdomen during this tour that made him seek treatment. Apparently he had the ailment for 5 years. So I don't think he was feeling well here. But still..he don't look THAT bad here. I think maybe you have a vivid imagination.
When Down were playing regular, I wanted to see Pantera more than anything. Now that Pantera are playing (granted, I just saw them) I wanna see Down more than ever haha, life is weird like that
Phil looks and sounds fantastic! After everything, he looks like he's in his 20's and sounds better! Just great to see him hammer out thos notes, happy and full of energy
Thats what I mean: Anselmo is the man...some people might think he was Dimes shadow or shit like that, but we have to keep in mind: Who was Pantera before Phil? Down is a great band...would not be Down without Phil just as Pantera is not Pantera without Phil...
i totally agree with you guy! phil is THE voice of these past 20 years (deep, warm, still&strong, evokes south's dust and beer) and a fucking impressive frontman still living his music.. Hail to Down, Crowbar, Eyehategod, Coc.......! Cheers from France!
So glad i was there, it was amazing! My first time seeing em, and i was right down the front! about 2 rows from the front and i coudnt move, i couldnt even put my hands up haha Well worth it, amazing!
Phil and Pepper are such an epic collaboration. Not to forget the rest of the band but i loved pantera and coc seperately so to see them in the same band is epic
Down, está mostrando com o tempo que é uma ótima banda...principalmente,parece que PHIL está recuperado e cantando como na época do cowboys from hell...muito loco mesmo.
I dunno, Phil's been getting a lot more respect lately, especially since Down IV came out. It's like everyone remembered he's awesome at once or something.
I ran the New Orleans Marathon 3 weeks ago in the Housecore Records shirt Phil is wearing. When people asked me what the back meant I just said, "Walk on home boy."
this btw is an absolutley brilliant video live performance phil, pepper, kirk, rex and jimmy all fucking kick ass they are all champions. favourite guys of all time.love em.
