As a grown man, I can go decades without crying, and then a song like this comes along and it hits me hard. “How many fathers gave up their sons”…that’s the line that does it. What a beautiful song.

“How many fathers gave up their sons for me.” That line hits me every. Single. Time. God isn’t only the great King of Kings and Lord of Lords; He is also a person that we get to have a relationship with, Someone we can get to know and who yearns to know us. He loved us so greatly that He gave up His Son so that we might have that opportunity to know Him, and if that’s not love, I don’t know what is. This song leaves me wanting to cry every time.

I've heard many songs in my 50 years as a believer. Generally, Christmas hymns have been very inspirational for me, especially given their Biblically based lyrics. However, I must say that this song is quite moving and most beautiful in conveying what God has done for mankind through Jesus. The lyrics of the chorus distinctly and passionately portray what our heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus have done for us.

I only heard this beautiful Song for the first time last Christmas in 2017. I listen to it at least weekly. EVERY time, Holy Spirit just pours out on me like a lovely oil, and I'm immediately moved from the depths of my soul to worship! The first day I heard it was on the radio on a lunchbreak. I was driving frantically and the volume was low. It locked on me and my heart recognized the draw, so I flipped up the volume and waited for the D.J. to give the song info, which they didn't. But the Lord set it up for me to hear it all that following week and well, the rest is history. This song is a Revelation!! How well they all blend. Blessings all.

This song, my favorite song that I haven't heard in years, came on today at 1:00a after I got pulled over for a mistake, but even tho he saw I had expired tags, something wrong with a tail light, he only asked for my id, I remembered Our Father God Jesus said to not fear or be dismayed, for I am with you whereever thou goest. He came back and said youre all good, I thanked him and said goodnight and went off and that's when this song came on, I wanted to cry but I was driving just wanting to get home. I've just been struggling a lot, the world hates me because He dwells within me as I in Him. He's showing me not to worry and to put Him First in everything.
