This is a MASSIVE upgrade from the .5 era... Everyone seemed so tired, and it all came of as pretty stale, really. These days, holy fuck, the energy and the live performances. Corey is at his peak. He hasn't been this good since Iowa.
Imo Corey's performances live during Subliminal Verses tour were terrible. But his vocal perf in studio for Duality was perfect dude, he had this rough voice...
SyNkz honestly I think the drinking caught up to him at that point but it might’ve not even been that. Heck if I sang/screamed like that for the first two years of my career(1999-2001) and my voice was giving out, heck yea it would probably be terrible by 2003 from screaming incorrectly. But I love the way he sounds now that he quit smoking. He’s got the right balance of AHIG and Grey Chapter with a pinch of 2002 Iowa voice.
Esquivel Lopez-Meza this performance is way better than all out life on kümmel they were only getting in to the new songs and used to screaming again now they are much better and the screams are better
Not selfish at all my friend. They played it last year when I saw them and the crowd chanting with it was godly. Same when that same show they played spit it out, and you know what that means ;)
I wonder if it ties into his theory of people will make him the bad guy but at the same time love him. I mean...I was all for batman kicking ass but I found myself subliminally cheering for Ledger's Joker. One of the many reasons i love Slipknot is that people who just look in and say they are just creating violence because the music and lyrics are violent dont understand that its the total opposite. They give people a place to belong and help so many people me included with their music and we will always be greatful to them. And they have always had massive love for their fans. As Corey said we are one big family.
9:50, I know this sounds a bit silly, but I actually liked the fact that he didn't sing a half octave lower for the lyrics "Jesus, it never ends, it works its way inside." He has done it at most other live shows and it just sounds better in the original higher octave. Perhaps I'm finicky, but I just think it sounds better.
I actually prefer when he sings it half an octave lower because you have Craigs sample with the original voice track so when he does it lower hes harmonising and it sounds beautiful.
As a proud gay black male im proud and happy to hear what corey said in the beginning. Iron Madden and Metallica are also so accepting. Not alot of metal bands or rap artists are of accepting of people like me. Ive been a metal fan esp of korn and slipknot since i was 12 in 1999. Cant wait to see my 1st Slipknot and Korn show in August at Jones Beach, NY. And I really love Coreys new mask its so fukkin scary like his old mask from the first album.

Corey's speaking and singing voice is gorgeous when he sung duality he sounds just like when they first released it, Not to keen on the mask though his lips look funny
S. Iacomus EXACTLY! All that hype about working with that famous horror movie guy to make this mask. And it still looks like some generic mask he pulled off the rack at a Halloween store that doesn’t properly fit his face
I can respect that his vocals have gotten better but imo I’m not hearing the harsh aggressiveness that everyone else hears. I hear Corey’s vocal and then I hear like Tom Barbers vocals for example and I can’t even compare. I’m not really understanding, it just doesn’t sound heavy to me it sounds like how an alternative band would scream not a “metal” band. I’m not hating, it’s just my observation

Im a young fan, like a very young one but i just cant stop listening to their music. The thing is i was influenced by my older brother which is why i started to listen to them and became a big fan. ❤
Same 😂 Tho I wasn’t influenced by anybody- My brother hates slipknot I’m 13 and found them through a video and decided too search them up! I love their music!!
