I was born in Kippax 1966.lived in the wimpy Estate. We had the laundrette in the high street in the 70s.i remember the pram races we used to have up there. Played in Kippax Hall as kids when anandoned. Good memories. Great pics many thanks
I remember the Laundrette, just up from the White Swan, opposite the Old Barclays Bank, It was an great place to hang out on a wintery evening and keep warm..
As a lad I was raised in Kippax, the Cinema was at the bottom of Hopewell Terrace near the Old Tree Inn. Great memories from my teens. I am amazed at your Video, at 1 minute 36 you can see the old guy in the wheel chair at X Hills bus stop, his name was Jimmy as a lad we would push him up and down the Village, park him up, light him a smoke from his bag and move on, this was about 1968 to 1970. Amazing, I lived in New Street. Now enjoy the memories. I also entered the pram race about 1971 and came 2nd.😂

I remember my fist movie at the Kippax picture House, it was Samson and Delilah or Herculese, my sister still teases me about the fact I would never make it to the end of a film as I would fall asleep. Born in Kippax 1955 and yes I am still Kicking, picture house is still there but has a different use now. Fond memories.
