This is excellent and exatly what I needed. I was going to pay a shop to do this for me but I see that it's pretty easy now and I don't think they would have switched off all the apps and disabled all the stuff that you did. We are of like mind when it comes to this stuff, so I'm glad I found your video.
Back when Windows 8 was briefly a thing Microsoft was selling licenses for $30 so I picked up two. What I've discovered is that I can still use those licenses when I do a clean install on a PC and it will be automatically upgraded during the process.
Would that work on a pc that isn’t able to rest at all or erase all content on pc… I’m trying to figure out how can I just rest my computer from scratch I tried everything on RU-vid.. do you think just upgrading my gaming pc to windows 11 will work?
There are a few things you can do. The first thing to try is attempting a reset from safe mode. If you hold down the shift key while selecting "Shutdown" from the Windows power menu, it should then reboot into safe mode. Once in safe mode, select "troubleshoot". It should come up with options to do a factory reset, or reset from a recovery partition from the manufacturer (for instance, "Dell Backup and Recovery"). That's probably the easiest way to get it done. The next option after that would be to create bootable media for whatever version of Windows you have and reinstall it from there, like I did in the video. The process for Windows 10 is almost identical to what I showed in the video for 11. Not every PC supports 11, so I would probably just try to get 10 sorted out first and upgrade to 11 later if you want.
I've just been ripped off by a guy who charged me £115 to install windows 11 pro. When I eventually got the PC home I booted it up, and tried to put my Programs onto it but was stopped because the product key was missing! When I contacted the guy he blamed it on me! He told me that it was ready to use when I received it. He wants to charge me again to have the OS installed and product key. No way am I trusting him. I had already stripped all the drives clean so he didn't have to do it. I've ordered a sealed WINDOWS 11 PRO DVD, is it just a case of putting the DVD into the drive and follow the instructions? The DVD is sealed with a rub off Product key. I would be very grateful of any advice.
I'm sorry to hear that. Sadly, there are people out there who just can't seem to manage to find a better way to turn a buck. I do this for free. 😂 I don't know how the product keys work with physical media anymore. I don't think I've done a Windows installation off of a disc since XP... or maybe 7? BUT... The process should be pretty straight forward. Just follow the prompts like I did and it should sort itself out. The biggest thing I would suggest is that if you _don't_ want to link your installation to a Microsoft account, _don't_ allow it to connect to the internet before the installation is complete. Just hit "skip" or "next" on those steps and set your internet connection up later. Oh... I would also imagine it may ask you if you want to repair your installation or start over. I suggest starting over. You may also have to tinker a little to get it to boot from the optical drive. If you're lucky, you may be able to just put the disc in the tray, reboot, and off it goes. 🤞
Sorry about that. I probably didn't explain it well enough since this project went from one channel to a different one. It began as a Dell 3880, then one part at a time I 100% un-Delled it into the custom build you see in the video. I don't think there are any Dell parts left in it as you see it now.
@@TheBrokenTech Ah, I forgot. Thanks for the explanation. I used to have the same problem that using a 32 bit XP computer to get 64 bit OS. Really annoying.
@@nicepenguin201 Heh... If I _really_ wanted to push it I could have used an older version of Rufus to make a bootable x64 USB stick, but it was getting so far outside of the point of the video that I just let it go. 😆
Hi I'm installing win 11 for the first time and at 5:49, for me it shows 2 drives. Drive 0 931.5 GB and Drive 1 1863.0GB. Obv I want Win 11 to be installed in the 1tb one. A lot of people are saying I should only be seeing 1? I'm so confused, why? and how do I only get to show just one? :(
If you do have 2 drives installed, I suggest uninstalling the secondary drive just so it's not an issue and you avoid this confusion. In terms of what Windows sees, the 931.5GB drive is the 1TB drive.
@@augurheist5637 I learned this lesson the hard way when I had 2 1TB drives in the same system. There was no way to easily tell without unplugging one. 🤣
