Wait a minute, these people live there and don't watch the weather? It's hurricane season. I live in the middle of the Pacific and I watch the weather in the Atlantic and in the Pacific during hurricanes season. So I knew four days ago that this was going to occur. And now these folks are saying they're surprised? I'm not necessarily blaming them, but it seems that the government should have done a bit more to alert its citizens to the dangers that were imminently ahead.

Yeah this. We knew it was going to rain. I've been here for 30years and the last thing I expected to hear was that roads were washed away last night. Are you calling us ignorant for not knowing the county would flood and roads would wash away? You are an ass

Just another example of how our weather patterns are changing. Warmer oceans and a warmer atmosphere hold more water. More rain falls. Then we have a disorganized jet stream so the rain just keeps hitting the same areas over and over again.

I'm sorry the rich and the tourist are having issues with their beach houses. Other parts of Brunswick County roads are washing away. Thank you to the cops and fire and rescue who were out all night rescuing people from 17. No one is happy. No one is having fun. This isnt a joke.

I came here to Carolina Beach on vacation the day after the flood and it's remarkable how back to normal it is. Most houses are built up on stilts so damage was minimal. I guess when injuries and property damage is small people just take it in stride
