Laundry basket in shower and take out when you shower,

We downsized back in Dec 2023 when our landlord gave us a 60 day notice that he was going to move into the property and then didn’t. We are a family of 6, with 2 dogs. Our camper is a lot smaller than yours. Ours is 25ft but we have to buy small because the space we have to put it is small. We have adjusted. We plan to live in this until we are debt free and we find our forever home. We are working on paying off our rv, then we will tackle our other bills. We should be debt free by the beginning of 2025! Good Luck. Once you adjust, you will love it

We've never lived in an RV but we take weeks long trips in ours. Two people and two dogs. Regular tp is fine. We've never had problems in our RV. If you want to keep your sign over the door that little decorative valance at the top pops right off. If you have the option for a spot at the RV park that offers shade it will help with cooling the RV. If you find it difficult to keep sheets on the RV bed get some elastic sheet straps to hold them in place. Good mats inside and outside the door will cut down on dirt being tracked in. A shoe bag hung on the inside of the bathroom door is great for toiletries. Baskets are also good for corralling small stuff.

@@cynthiamyers4265 thank you! Thankfully we are not in a park but on my dad’s property but shade is not an option. We have all our windows covered with reflexive insulation and it helps tremendously especially being here in Florida where we are having reel-feels of 102-106° already. We’ve adjusted. This was a HUGE downsize for us going from 2k sq foot to under 200sq ft. We do a lot of outdoor activities, the zoo, museums, trampoline park etc to get out of the house. We are a homeschooling family as well so that gives us lots of opportunities for learning outside. We also spend a lot of time in my dad’s pool.

I store my small Crockpot (with the lid upside down) inside my large one, and I keep the liners inside the small Crock. 2 Crocks+supplies only taking up one space.

I would recommend putting a rug or carpet piece under the dog crate to protect the flooring. We do that with ours and it really does prevent it from making marks or scratches on the floor. Also it makes it easier sliding in and out for cleaning. 😊

When making the twin bunks, I found it easier to pull the mattress off and then put the sheet on. Then slide the mattress back on. I also found that I used the crockpot a lot in my RV, dut to easy clean up and it used less resources overall when cooking. These may or may not work better for you, but thought I would share. 😊

When we moved in our really small apartment , my mother in law said “think vertical” with everything for storage. Hangers that you put multiple clothing pieces on, organizers for backs of doors (like shoe hangers but use for kitchen supplies, or makeup/personal care etc) and small bags on the backs of door knobs as trash cans! It really helped us tremendously to not feel cluttered.💖

For the laundry basket, we use those mesh bags that have a drawstring. We take a command hook and put it onto the bathroom door and throw the dirty clothes in there, plus the bag gets washed as well. The spice rack, have you thought about putting up a thin piece of metal, or a magnetic board and get the spice containers that have a screw on lid, with the magnets on the back? Could put that inside the pantry on the door? I'm so excited for you all. What an awesome journey GOD has you all on. Enjoy.

Tamara, regarding the spice organizer, you'll have to space it just right from the shelves to the pantry door. Also, you can buy an in-line water filter/pressure regulator 45 psi. (When you hook up to outside water). Make sure you have an electrical RV surge protector. If you burn up the electrical system, DEALER will not warranty the repairs. Get metal mesh covers to go over the water heater vent, furnace vents to prevent wasps and other bugs fro. Nesting in there. Try to slide down the twin mattress to place the sheet on. Good luck.😊

Get a bike lock to secure your surge protector to the power box so it doesn’t get stolen.

Hey girlie, Yes there is a trick. Stand on the floor, pull the mattress out & pull towards you..slip on the back , top & bottom of the sheet then push it back & slip on the front corners! No climbing..no extreme reaching!😊 Next..go grab..over the door "shoe" hangers for all doors, especially that pantry! Inside & out! Put hangers, hooks, containers everywhere on the walls! As much OFF the floors and counters as possible! On the counters..elevate all things on something else & use the space underneath. So basically use the WHOLE space horizontal & vertical! Amazon or Walmart..$100 mini countertop ice maker..only get the model that is self cleaning😊

I know this is an older video, but im getting caught up! Kids dont care as much, but if you temporarily invest in memory foam mattress toppers, they make a world of difference! Also, invest in waterproof mattress protectors for all of the beds, yes even the bottom bunk for Winston's stuff! With kids, pets, etc, they make a world of difference. We have extras to change out just in case because you never know. If you don't want to deal with changing sheets/ protectors when something happens...layer them so you can take a layer of sheets/ protector off, and still have have a brand new layer. All of ours, you can wash literally however you want, except with bleach, because it deteriorates the waterproof lining/layer. Hope thats helpful to you, or someome!

They make RV bunk sheets in jersey knit. They'll fit snug and they have lots of colors. They have different sizes too. Narrow trash cans and laundry hampers work well. Oh, and velcro strips work well on hanging light weight stuff, like Winstons signs.

When I had my camper I bought a lot of my baskets, plastic containers, trash cans and things at the Dollar Store. I also invested in a larger toaster oven which was convection and an air fryer. So I did not have to use the oven in the camper. I did invest in the toaster oven pan set which was under $10 and was just the right size if you use the camper oven. A shelf above the toilet could store towels. a laundry basket in each bedroom helped me with the laundry situation. Towel hooks for wet towels to hang in bathroom. An electric frypan worked great for the kitchen too. I always tried to save on gas at the campgrounds by using the electric appliances. Hope this helps some.

We were full time RVers for 8 years. I found that if I used a dry wash cloth to pre-dry with after a shower then dried with my towel I could use my towel several times before laundering. It was better to wash several wash cloths and fewer towels. Also, you said it was hot...turn your generator on and run your AC. People at the company that made our generator told me to run it as much as I wanted...the more you run it, the better it will be. Our 8 years living and traveling in our motor home was the best 8 years of my life.

Another thing we started to use when we got our RV was lots of command strips to hold things on/up and getting creative with that to avoid nails and holes all in the walls or screws considering the walls are so much different than walls in a house….just an idea…lots of basket or tote use in the pantry to keep things from falling over during moving too.

Space saving ideas: spices-I like the magnetic kind that can go on the side of the fridge. You can get metal strips to put up that the magnets would stick to. Girl, ice is a necessity in the summer! 😂 In the apt, I do a decorative hamper in the corner. You could do that in your bedroom. Not ideal but could work.

For the bottom bunk maybe a fleece sheet so it’s less bed like, protects the fabric, and is comfy. It will be worth measuring and splurging on containers to maximize pantry storage. Plan for things that can nest inside things so you can store things inside the slow cooker when not in use. Think of things like bowls/strainers that can sit inside one another Sound is good in the RV (in case you were wondering)

My husband and I purchased our travel trailer almost 2 years ago and live in it full time. We love it! At first I was nervous to use the oven but being a baker, I couldn't not bake! I rotate my bread or casserole or whatever I'm baking halfway thru or more because my oven gets a little hotter in the back. RV ovens are pretty much the same, just smaller and it just takes time to learn how your oven works. Probably smaller loaves than you're normally used to making. Also, be prepared for the breakers popping. We live in a really hot climate and I had the ice maker, the microwave and air conditioner going and the breaker popped. Easy fix, but don't be surprised if it happens. I still forget sometimes about plugging too many things in at once. Also, I do have an older Crock-Pot but I had mine cooking on the counter and it burned the counter a little. Best to put it on a baking sheet or something to protect your counter if the Crock-Pot gets too hot. Hope some of this helps! It's an adjustment for sure, but you'll learn what works for you over time. I'm so excited for you and your family on this new adventure! I just remembered... You can get little RV refrigerator fans that are about 4×4 inches to help keep your fridge cool. I'm the hot heat, RV fridges struggle to stay cold. Again, best of luck to you❤

It's so exciting watching everything go in its place. So glad Max's crate fits where you needed it so he'll be more comfortable. My family enjoys going camping every year. We got a pop-up camper (much smaller than yours) & it has been both fun & challenging figuring out where everything will go between trips. One thing we cannot live without are these pop-up hampers (made for leaf collection so they're stronger & found in lawn & garden sections of stores). We use those for trash (bag fits perfectly inside & we sometimes use clothespins to keep the bag from falling inside). We use another pop-up hamper for dirty clothes (when it's not being used, it folds up perfectly for storage).

Try finding small trash cans that will hang on the cabinet doors for the kitchen and bathroom. Put a fly swatter in the camper. Those buggers always find a way in (so do stink bugs). Magazine racks work great for storing stackable items (containers of spices, books, foil, plastic wrap parchment paper). Make a toothbrush holder out of pvc piping to put on the wall in the bathroom to save cabinet space. Drill holes in the bottom caps of the individual holders so they drain and dry. Cheap and easy. If you want to class it up a bit, cover it in pretty contact paper. Buy the cheap shelf stands at the dollar store so you can stack things and utilize the height of the cabinets.

if you have room with making your son's bed, tip the back of the mattress up, put the two fitted sheet corners on and any blankets, then carefully lay that side down and then do the front....takes a few times but essentially you are making the back half of the bed first then straightening and making the front after....my daughter had a built in bed and it was the easiest way i could make it.... as for the oven, if you wanna make a big turkey or something, you can just use an electric roaster that can be stored when not in use. in the bathroom you could use a small wall mounted trash can by the toilet paper roll, and the laundry can go straight into the machine and when you have a full load, just wash it and it's free for more laundry. hope some of these ideas help.

Be sure to watch RU-vid video on how to maintain your rv septic system. The most important.

In our RV bathroom. I bought a Pell on/off sigh that says Wash Your Hands cause germs and Jesus is Everywhere! And in the kitchen under the clock I have the Lords prayer under it that is Pell/stick the same way. And this stuff doesn’t mess up the wall paper . I bought them at the General Dollar Store. I have a shoe mat (to hold wet/dirty shoes) by our door and we have a trash can sitting on it to that has a step to open the trash can. This is if you have room. Wish you all the Best!!! ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊

I would hang your sign over the door. I think it will look fine and I think that down the road it will be small things like that sign which will make the camper feel like home. Think about it, that sign is one of the first things you thought to put into the camper. This shows that it means a lot to you, it is something that says home to you.

You can bring the mattress down and put the sheet on . I always use square containers even in my fridge they fit better. I think I would bring the dog cage out and make sure you can get around it and take it back in after you check . Maybe try and use storage containers you already have and see what you like and then buy . Does the bathroom mirror open into a medicine cabinet? It does ! I have used shower rods easy to adjust the size and take down . Hanging laundry bags and trash can in the shower . I will eat chili anytime ! Great job ! 🌸🦋🌸

Hey, after my divorce I bought a camper and lived in it for 4 years. You will find the things you use the most will change. Or it did for me. But it will be a work in progress. I enjoyed the camping life. I pray you enjoy your new adventure.

To save space on your pantry you may Try putting your stuff in ziploc bags and then getting some narrow baskets from dollar tree and stack the bags in the little basket and put on the shelf. I know it's not ideal but it definitely takes up a lot less space

Love y’all RV! And I love ours too! When we go camping we take our nugget ice maker. I have to have my ice! Make sure all your canisters have a very tight fitting lid. Because when your going down the road and hit a bump. Stuff will shift or fall. And don’t use to many command strips. Cause if your not using the RV later on and don’t have A/C on. RV gets really hot in there and the wall paper pulls loose from the wall. I found that Velcro works much better. And we store extra paper towels under the couch. Yes those small ovens don’t cook as even as a home oven. If I cook biscuits they don’t cook as even as my home oven. Try it first. But you might want to make up lots of bread and freeze it. And those RV freezer don’t freeze ice cream that good. But they do freeze meat and veggies well. But our RV is a 2017. I wish you all the Best of luck! Y’all will love it! Please keep the videos coming! ❤❤❤❤😊

My daughter and her coworker work in a sleep clinic that is not hooked on to the hospital. They also wanted ice but had no where to store it. For Xmas I bought them a nece one that would sit perfectly on your counter for $50

I have a small round pizza stone in my oven and dont have any problems baking. But you should definitely get an oven thermometer to verify your temp! We use a mesh bag for laundry. Laundry and trash are the worst things to figure out. We have a smaller office trashcan but still use 13 gallon trash bags. Also, esp during winter months, you might want to get a dehumidifer for the condensation that will happen on the windows inside the camper. Its the worst. Command hooks fall off but nails dont really work either. We dont have slides but definitely make sure there is NOTHING under or around the slide areas when you bring them in. The smallest thing can get into the track and majorly mess up your flood. The only other thing i can suggest is to make sure youre always under weight with how much you bring into the camper. Glad to have another homesteader in the RV community! Its tough but worth it

I'd put it over the door because my Momma always covered up that ugly door topper. Your sign is cuter than that topper. My Momma always put a floral swag, but I love your sign
