As someone who plays mig-29 basically exclusively... 100% this. I don't even bother looking at the F-4e/f-4s's until all the tomcats, f16s and mig-29s on the other team are dead.
Idk what changed in the matchmaker, but now I got this plane and I get full upteir to 12.0 90% of the time and it’s torture. Just can’t compete with the F-16A and MiG-29
@@_Joobuna pregunta porqué mí radar cuando fijo a un avión y el tira bengalas el radar y el misil se dirigen a las bengalas supongo que debería seguir fijando a el avión porque vi el video y cuando tiran bengalas el radar no lo sigue
The amount of killstealing that happened against me when playing that plane was astonishing. We are talking spamming aim9Ls at a flatspinned enemy with both engines on fire
0:40 yo pro tip for ya: as you are closing in on that mig 21, on your radar display there will be 3 lines showing to the right those are range indicators (both ir and sarh missiles show it). you know that you are in range, by having the one longer line in between two shorter ones. i've learned it cause of sim x) if the longer line is above shorter ones, its out of range, but possible it will hit under some circumstances. if its below both lines, then its still has really good chance to hit. when you see 1 short line and 1 longer line, it either means: you are really out of range (so out of range that 2 lines are collapsing onto each other) you see the bottom short range, and it means that you are in range, the max range line is out of radar display.
This. I recommend firing missiles at 2/3 or less of their max range so they dont just fall out of the sky as ive had that happen where it just slipped under a target by inches. Also id recommend climbing in a downtier in the f4e or mig23m since you can avoid the cluster fights and clear any high alt threats with ease
I love this plane, a few minutes ago I got a 5 kill match where I was rtb after 2 kills but enemy kept showing up behind my and I always turned arround and slapped them with the dogfight sparrows
I just can't get that matchmaker luck with the J-7E sadly. Mig-27 and Mig-21 Bis on the other hand are being real joyrides. I need to get this Phantom to see if that pattern holds...
@@Independent118 That's relative. Some people are getting almost 100% downtiers on the J-7E and I haven't got a single one. There's more to WT's matchmaker than they let out.
"Got the crit on him though. But he seems to be fine" has been every fucking match I've played as the A-10 recently. Nothing but crits, some insta kills but its like a 70% chance crit and nothing fucking happens. Even had a kill stolen after i died, the guy i crit ran out of fuel after being on fire from my fucking 30mm cannon. Got no assist.
the f4e is that kind of plane that can spank a mig21 in a dogfight and joust properly vs viggens and other stuff but will most likely get 100 matches in a row where it dies to an unnotchable f-16 or crashes while futilely avoiding enemy radar.
It is a mystery to me how the F-4E has around 1000kgf more thrust per engine then the MIG-29 and yet it somehow performs so much worse. I guess it's just that much heavier.
Close range head on radar missiles work great I use the 7Fs with the F-4s and have gotten kills with them under 2-3k feet in head on but works similarly with 7Es
The internet situation sounds like there was a node or something that your isp had go out and replace with a new one,. It would explain the 3 day outage(about how long it takes for techs to replace one of those things), and it could also explain the drastically improved performance when it came back. I used to work tech support at Cox, so usually a 3 day outage is something serious they have to go fix. You can also call and get credit for the days it was out, but they don't typically credit that automatically, so you have to explicitly ask for it. Depending on how much your bill is, 3 days may not be worth the time, but if people had cable and internet, a 3 day outage would be like $25+.
@Joob So, in my experience(3.5yrs in tech support), as a tier 1 agent then Tier 2, you can only see an outage if there are enough calls from a specific area calling within a certain time frame(it's a formula based on the amount of subscribers on a node, etc). So if you don't call at the right time, they won't see it. If that ratio isn't met, then the agent won't have a clue that anything is wrong, and they will just go into normal troubleshooting like asking you to unplug your modem, etc, as if you havent already tried that. There are a ton of elderly people who call and haven't done that, its mind-boggling. When I first started at cox, agents like myself had access to a link that could show you if a specific address was in an outage and specifically what the problem was, and even which field agent was assigned to it. They removed that access about 1yr into my tenure because most tier 1 agents are more customer service/sales and have a tenuous grasp on how the internet works at best, so that info was worthless for 80%+. For some weird reason, I could still access it and NEVER told anyone about it, so I could see stuff most tech support agents couldn't. As the tech support role became more automated and scripted, I could see the procedures and how that differs from what actually is happening. I hope the internet stays up and running good for you though, but if it starts going bad again, I'd start thinking it's weather related(water gets into a line fitting from a storm, and it takes a few days to dry out, sort of thing). Moral of the story: most tier 1 agents can't see shit, by design, so don't take what they say as fact, because it's just corporate speak to save face and placate ignorant customers. I assume something bigger was wrong, and they actually assigned a tech behind the scenes to fix the problem and just won't admit it.
Also, we used in-house techs, and contractors. The left hand does NOT know what the right is doing, so the in-house maintenance techs fixed the outage, and the contracted tech they most likely sent wasn't required anymore, so no point in sending him any longer lol.
F-4e has too much performance to face 9.7s, and the armament is brutal, it's just that from 11.0 to 11.7 the performance and armament gap is just humongous
I used the my F4E to research the F16 and as long as you had aimj and aim7m's and you played smart you could get about 3 kills per game but in a down tier you can bomb 2-3 bases and get like 5-8 kills in my experience (8 only if I was super lucky in dogfights)
