Busy Downtown Honolulu came to a halt on Thursday. That's after a large power outage forced many offices and businesses to close early. HECO says the outage was due to a series of events that began last night. Our team coverage begins with Alina Lee, who has more on today's power outage impacts.

HECO spent hundreds of billions on solar and wind power instead of prioritizing safe and 100% reliable electrical delivery.

At least we’re saving the planet climate change is real we’re all gonna die if we don’t take action we all need to sacrifice our lives whether it be shutting down businesses or no jobs Mother Earth is more important thank god they shut down the coal plant get rid of oil fossil fuels go electric maybe we need to put windmills on diamond head to service the town area🙏❤️🙏❤️
