Dozens of people in the Midwest are believed to be dead after severe weather that caused multiple tornadoes struck late Friday night and early Saturday morning, tearing through several states including Kentucky, Illinois and Arkansas.
As of Saturday morning, at least 70 people have died in Kentucky alone, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said, and the death toll is expected to rise. President Biden called the destruction "devastating."
In Mayfield, Ky., a candle factory was hit, leading to multiple fatalities, Beshar said at a news conference earlier Saturday morning.
The devastation in the Mayfield area goes beyond the factory, and several surrounding counties are are pitching in with EMS help, as the main emergency services hub in the town itself was in the direct line of the storm, local officials said Saturday. The water tower was hit too, leaving the town without water.
Kentucky Emergency Management Director Michael Dossett said Friday night's tornado event may surpass the 1974 Super Outbreak as the deadliest in the state's history.

Our local television station has for almost a week had been sounding a warning about this storm's potential. Noah on NBC 6 has on every broadcast warned that the high temperature, meeting a cold front on Friday night going into Saturday morning had the possibility of seriously dangerous weather conditions. I thank God Noah was out there risking his reputation days before anyone else was. Thank you Noah for having the insight to predict and the courage to warn, far in advance of what the other media outlets were, I believe you saved lives.

I hope that people in your area urge increased funding for FEMA so that when people in other areas need assistance it is there as well. Better storm warnings, perhaps improved infrastructure. There is a lot of improvements that can help people. It seems as though a lot of people want help when they need it, but forget there are needs that other people have. Needs. I am reminded of the people of Puerto Rico at the time of the devastating hurricane in 2017. I am not without sympathy for people who experience devastating loss. On the day my second daughter was born our house burned down. We lost everything. There was not fire assistance in our area.

Tornadoes are rare everywhere, except USA and like Bangladesh I think....BUt did you know with that area of eastern Europe and Russia, they are some of the places most prone to horrible tornado outbreaks that produce f5 tornadoes?!...After the eastern usa and after in and around bangladesh south of himilayas where cold are meets tropical air, I think Russia ranks 3rd in terms of f5 tornadoes....maybe not 3rd in overall tornadoes, lots of places get f0, f1, f2....a lot more than russia, like britain might get more tornadoes on average than russia but I think the odds of a big tornado in UK is nearly impossible, not in Russia... but I think over the past 1000 years russia has had more f5 tornadoes than any country other than america and that area of southeasternish asia. Im serious.....Do not doubt the super cell storms that can develop in the flat areas from europe to the ural mountains! Look, an f5 tornado in russia with other big tornadoes in outbreak more likely then a meteor flying over a city, almost getting too close and killing lots, but still doing that amount of damage...you had the meteor already 7 years ago...I for real when say f5 a lot more likely than that, definately f4...unfortunately too your tornado alley can produce some of the worst, its just rare, but also sad it in more populated areas of country and not in siberia!

We wronged them not, but they wronged themselves. So their gods other than Allah, whom they invoked, profited them naught when there came the Command of your Lord, nor did they (false deities) add aught to them except destruction. Such is the Seizure of your Lord when He seizes the (population of) the towns while they are doing wrong (polytheism). Verily, His Seizure is painful, (and) severe. And your Lord would never destroy the towns wrongfully, while their people were right-doers. And to warn those who say: "Allah has begotten a son (or offspring or children)." No knowledge have they of such a thing, nor had their fathers. Mighty (in disbelief) is the word that comes out of their mouths. They utter nothing but a lie. So We sent upon them a furious wind in days of evil omen (for them) that We might give them a taste of disgracing torment in this present worldly life. But surely the torment of the Hereafter will be more disgracing, and they will never be helped. Or do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allah), will not send against you a violent whirlwind? Then you shall know how (terrible) has been My Warning. Verily, We sent (Messengers) to many nations before you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم). And We seized them with extreme poverty and loss in health (with calamities) so that they might humble themselves (believe with humility). So when Our Torment reached them, why then did they not humble themselves (believe with humility)? But their hearts became hardened, and Shaytan (Satan) made fair-seeming unto them that which they used to do. [Al-An'aam 6:42-43]

@@arksredemption937 Your obviously not God since your living in it, so how would you have any idea? God is… God? So yeah no one knows how he does it. He also didn’t want this to happen, he didn’t make this happen. If he stopped all the tornadoes and bad things from happening what would heaven be? And who would we be?

Of there isn’t already, there should be a wind corridor mapping from all these past hurricanes and tornados, and prevent any construction to be done on these vulnerable threads. It obviously cannot prevent the storms but at least it would help to minimize the massive damage.

This Australian garden-variety knockabout bloke, and I'm sure every Aussie is horrified appalled sad & are thinking of the immeasurable loss hurt & grief in Kentucky, and just want to hug you all. We get cyclones but this is beyond belief!?. Hope survivors are found to help ease the misery & give rescuers & responders & all decent folk something to be thankful for out of this atrocious disaster. Thinking of you Kentucky. May God keep those souls lost there in bluegrass country. From Buderim, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia.

From a fellow Queenslander, just down the road in Brissy, thankyou for your beautiful words to all the people in Kentucky. As Aussies we get our share of natural disasters but even Cyclone Tracey paled against this monstrous Armageddon magnitude tornado. I couldn't believe the footage....😳😔🙏🕊🙏
