You may have first seen her as Peggy Carter in Captain America: The First Avenger, but Hayley Atwell has been at it for quite a while, on stage, on TV, and on film. Her latest is the long-form version of Howard's End. She spoke to David Poland about the show and her career.

Oh, she really had me until she started talking about being a victim BECAUSE she is a woman. In Captain America she could physically attack another soldier and NOT face a court marshal. She MUST know that she is unbelievably privileged BECAUSE she is a woman. I wonder if she will wake up and become aware of the empathy gap, and the mortality gap, and the paternity gap, etc.

well the guy deserved it he made a sexual joke towards her she was just standing her ground. I kind of agree that in some cases she is privileged but not completely there are still going to be things that women and men don't get treated on equally on and it's not gonna change unless we do something to really show the change point out the things that need to be said instead of hiding bc ur afraid of being mistreated or misunderstood by people.

@@jeidamartin5496 Serious question; "well the guy deserved it" - do you genuinely believe that people should be smashed in the face if they tell a joke somebody else doesn't like? Or (answer honestly here) is your gut reaction that a woman should be able to harm a man, and that's what makes it okay? Can a man smash a woman in the face if she offends him?
